Here in Brazil, there is one called "Jornal Nacional", which has been using the same theme since 1969. But still, 1955 is incredibly old.

@@rtcp2020 Because Brazil is huge and there are large portions of the country that are basically rainforest and scarcely populated. It took years to set up a terrestrial microwave link network.

Since 1984 we have in Germany private and cable television. So it was important to set a mark/brand.

Actually, the "bong" was since 1955. And that iconic "Hier ist das Erste deutsche Fernsehen mit der Tagesschau" sentence was around 1960 (I think?)

I like 1960-1967 because I feel like I'm at a German baseball game I also like 1977-1984, 1984-1993, 1993-1997 And my most favorite 2014-Present because they all give me the chills

@@EFify2563 NDR is a local public Station in northern Germany. Beside NDR are more local Stations like WDR which all are part of the federal Station ARD.

@@Illuminator1806 the ARD is not a station, just a group of the 9 local stations and "Das Erste" ("the first"), a station they all produce for together. Also the ARD is not controlled by the government if you meant that with federal.

@@schnittlauchakaharryschott9971 These are 9 broadcasters who forms the ARD NDR, WDR, MDR, RBB, BR, radio bremen, SWR, hr, SR, DW It should be noted that Deutsche Welle is also member of ARD, nevertheless they were financed by the German government, and its broadcast operations are internationally (however they also included German language aswell due to their neighboring countries are also speaking German).
