No one will ever go visit the country if it wasnt for the world cup. Paid your way into the tournament with corruption AND just made yourself look like a joke as football team.

By your logic all European countries should ban the hijab because "it doesn't conform to Western culture". Simply choosing to express an idea by wearing a symbol doesn't constitute disrespect towards a culture. Not like the Qatari players are being forced to wear them.

I support LGBT rights in my country but we have to respect that other countries have a different view on this. This whole rainbow thing strikes me of imperialism. It’s almost like the west is demonizing non western nations in the way they did hundreds of years before calling them canibals that didn’t know civilization and then they took them over. The Victorian British of the 1800 used to call it the White mans burden - the need to conquer and teach the rest of the world. I thought we had decided that conquering other countries was wrong. I thought we could respect. Only 30 years ago many western countries criminalized homosexuality. Now they say it’s a fundamental human right and are aggressive to others not so enlightened. As a Germany supporter I am so glad Japan won.

Now I know why they got back early again, twice in a row. Since the beginning, they hadn't had any intention to play, only to support One Love. It must have taken a lot of time for all the players to learn how to pose in harmony like in the pic for their first game, in front of the whole world. A very impressive picture. Maybe if they had invested the exact same time to play in harmony, they would have won the game. On the bright side, they could go back early and continue to spread the One Love movement from the comfort of their home. Maybe the rainbow plane had already landed. Germany would be very proud of them and their so-called powerful message.
