Germany announces shift in approach to China relations | DW News

Germany has announced a new blueprint for relations with Asia, calling in particular for 'diversity' in its focus in the region. That's being interpreted as an effort to lessen its dependence on China. A move that would almost certainly have consequences for German businesses.

In 2020 we were all really happy to have china as a trade partner. Also not every european partner is eager to see german leadership. The UK is even leaving the only club that could project some power to convince china into a partnership. But at the moment I guess UK in or out they got other issues over there than to project power on anybody.

China-Central and Eastern Europe Summit Then Poland and most of the other Eastern European countries would have to stop giving China more and more influence, if one more country switches to the side, your countries would have enough votes to block decisions against China or to partially paralyse the EU as a whole. An example of what has already happened in recent years: Greece, Hungary and I believe Poland have blocked the human rights report on China or joint statements against China. If these were to turn out badly, trade with China would have to be restricted.

@S W of course. Mainly because the US has been blocking high tech chip sales to China, without the US high tech semi-conductor chips, most so called "technologies" of China will not function properly. China has been launching rockets, satellites and missiles and they fall, and China doesn't even know where they fall. Also due to US sanctions of semi-conductirs and Android platform, , China's biggest smartphone company can no longer produce high end phone, only lower end. So Germany, being such slow acting and cnsrvative country, knows what it's doing. German technology is so much more advanced than China, trust me.

The West got stuck in a false dilemma, which is GLOBALIZATION vs ISOLATIONISM. The true narrative, however, must be DEMOCRACY vs TOTALITARIANISM. Look at what's going on in Britain, Europe, the USA. One doesn't have to be a 'stable genius' to see that China and Russia are in a joint venture to dismantle the West. Western PUBLIC must open its eyes and wake up to the fact that we can't have it both ways - it's either cheap junk and gas from China and Russia, or FREEDOM for us and our children. Read Churchill's timeless masterpiece called the "Iron Curtain" speech. It was true back then, and it is even more true today - the most effective western foreign policy ever, and the only TIME PROVEN WINNING RECIPE against totalitarianism, which China and Russia propagate worldwide: "We cannot be blind to the fact that the liberties enjoyed by individual citizens throughout the United States and throughout the British Empire are not valid in a considerable number of countries, some of which are very powerful. In these States control is enforced upon the common people by various kinds of all-embracing police governments to a degree which is overwhelming and contrary to every principle of democracy. The power of the State is exercised without restraint, either by dictators or by compact oligarchies operating through a privileged party and a political police... If the Western Democracies stand together in strict adherence to the principles of the United Nations Charter, their influence for furthering those principles will be immense and no one is likely to molest them. If however they become divided of falter in their duty and if these all-important years are allowed to slip away then indeed catastrophe may overwhelm us all." -- Winston Churchill, 1946

At most they probably want to gobble up Taiwan and secure the South China Sea as their own backyard. That can be a problem for the US which keeps the world peace as the global policeman and her regional allies like Japan, but it really isn't a problem for Europe unless you take "European values" seriously in a world of realpolitik.

Boycott CCP, China for severe mismanagement of pandemic and creating havoc in every part of world 1. China allowed 5 millions people to go outside China without a single screening test for corona from 15 January 2020 onwards. 2. Domestic flights from Wuhan cancelled but not international flights. 3. China denied access to UN for investigation. 4. China denied access to corona patients and to the virus that they already had. That took many days to understand virus. Does World still need any other proofs?? 5. 20 foreign journalist investigating corona pandemic expelled or forced to leave China in past 5 months. Our country's (Australian) Chris Buckley a highly regarded and experienced is one of them.

And this means that the world peace could be achieved if the countries and territories that are illegally encroached by the Chinese (as their claimed territories) should be liberated from it's clutches and should be recognised and declared openly as free countries. So, it's time for some Slice and dice, where China is the ultimate dish to be served.

Can Germans afford a price increase like that for at least 50% of the things you buy? Unless Germans are willing to live with less luxury, there's no way for production to return..

@@DieForMetalcore Australia led the world in call for an independent inquiry into the origins of Covid-19. The Australian navy has also continued to freely navigate the international waters of the South China Sea, against the protests of the CCP. In retaliation, China has: 1. Detained/urrested Australian citizens, who are currently in China, without stating what the charges are. 2. Cancelled the importation of Australian barley. 3. Blocked the importation of Australian wine (with unsubstantiated claims of dumping) 4. Cancelled the importation of Australian beef. 5. Blocked the importation of Australian wheat (with unsubstantiated claims of contamination). The spokesman for Chinese Foreign Affairs, rebuffed Australia's actions by describing the latter as, "... the chewing gum on the sole of China's shoe." These actions are not typical of a relationship between puppet and master. Furthermore, militarily speaking, Australia remains firmly in the American camp. Joint naval, army and air force exercises with the USA, are a norm for Australia and have occurred within the last 12 months. These include exercises in the South China Sea. Your assertion that Australia is a puppet of China, needs considerable substantiation.

China has not engaged in a war for more than 30 years. 58 years ago, the battle with India at the border, two countries with a combined 40% of world’s population and a shared history of 4000 years, was so minor that there’s nothing to write home about. There are 800+ US military bases outside their territory, while China has only 4. Since the country was founded, the US had been in war for 93% of the time, in 224 of its 242 year history. Even the Noble Peace Prize winning President of the US, Barack Obama, had dropped 26,000 bombs in 7 countries during his two terms. The US has a war-economy, because the Milita-ry Industri-al Compl-ex (M.I.C.) needs wars to run. If the world is not afraid of the US, why are they afraid of China?
