Him bringing down anyone else with him has nothing to do with cowardice. Cowardice is when you make someone else do your suicide for you because you don’t have the balls to do it yourself. Jumping in front of a car/train, rushing a cop, etc. Killing others in the process is indicative of nothing besides lacking a moral compass or even failing that any kind of professional duty of care for his title and post. This guy might’ve been a world class monster but I will not do him the disservice of calling him a coward. He was calculated and deliberate. Every step in the process was his own doing.

Im depressed, suffer of social anxiety and suicidal when I was planing to off myself (its all in the past now) I didnt saw me include people in it. In fact most suicidal people dont want their familly and friends to suffer. Thats why we most of the time pretend to be happy a day or two before the attempt so they dont feel guilty or that its their fault. This was intentional, evil and calculated.

In case anyone needs context: The co-pilot, Andreas Lubitz, was planning to commit suicide by crashing the plane with a controlled descent. When the captain was out of the cockpit, he locked the cockpit door and began to bring the plane down. The pilot banging on the door trying to get in was the captain, and sadly the door didn't budge which caused the plane to crash into a hill, leaving all 150 occupants dead. He had previously been treated with suicidal tendencies and was told unfit for work by his doctor. Andreas Lubitz decided to keep this information from all of his employers to be able to crash the plane

From what I remember (correct me if I’m wrong), the main pilot went to take a bathroom break and while he was gone, the co pilot started descending the plane at a rapid pace to which the main pilot had gotten out of the bathroom and saw what was happening. So he tried to open the door but it was locked due to a feature that prevented hijackers to get in. He banged on the door yelling “OPEN THE DAMN DOOR” repeatedly as it kept on descending. But the co pilot didn’t listen then it sadly crashed. Turns out not too long back he had a doctors note saying he was mentally ill and couldn’t fly but he managed to hide it.

context: the co-pilot of the plane was either mentally ill or depressed. he had a plan to crash one of the flights he was on. as soon as the pilot left the cockpit, he closed and locked the door. as he did that, he pitched the nose down a bit, crashing it and killing everyone on board. and another thing is, this was in 2015, so after 9/11 they had updated the doors of cockpits to be strong, even a hammer can’t take it down.

Germanwings Flight 9525 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Barcelona-El Prat Airport in Spain to Düsseldorf Airport in Germany. On March 24, 2015, the Airbus A320 aircraft crashed into the French Alps near Digne-les-Bains, France, killing all 144 passengers and six crew members on board. The crash was caused deliberately by the co-pilot, who had a history of mental health issues and locked the captain out of the cockpit before initiating a controlled descent into the mountains. This tragic event prompted discussions about mental health screening for pilots and cockpit security measures. Edit: Damn I didn’t think this would blow up btw thx for 4.9k likes. Edit 2: people did try to help break down the cockpit door, but it’s useless because those cockpit doors held by bulletproof padding because of the attacks on 9/11 there is also a code that you could use to go into the cockpit, but if the pilots don’t respond to it, they can accept it or decline the copilot most likely declined the password that’s probably why they couldn’t get into the cockpit

Because if I have to be miserable then so do their families!" and proceeded to crash the plane. I know depression and suicidal urges are not simple things, and those that suffer from both deserve love and to be looked after and helped. But there genuinely is no excuse for what he did. 😂 Clearly you have no idea what depression does to people when it finally hits you at its worst I find You Disgusting for not understanding how it's deadly and how Serious depression can get no I Don't approve of those people dying on that plane and nor Do I approve of his actions I do Find it deplorable but You have to understand the Human mind is Nothing More than a Time Bomb When it's filled with nothing but mental illness instead of just blaming the pilot you need to blame the company as well It's the company's responsibility to make sure they're pilot mental health and well-being are in check and that pilot was not. Seriously please for the love of whatever you believe and actually learn about depression before you start speaking because depression can kill a person at any time at any moment and the terrible thing is it's a slow fucked up process and if anyone does survive it they are more than likely to try again and again and again. Until they find a more permanent solution.

That's the problem with aviation law - if you're grounded for a serious mental depression/ illness or have expressed your will to end your life , you are completely blackballed from a career you've lived your whole life and can never return. So essentially you lose everything you've worked your whole life for and can destroy families etc. You might say good , that no one being treated by a doctor or on medication should be able to continue but the catch is , instead of close medical supervision and consistent monitoring , you have pilots who are too terrified to say anything for fear of losing their entire worlds which drives them to try self medicate or ignore and hide the problem which is how you get this. I fly and have seen this more than once from colleagues , not necessarily depression but other threatening medical conditions, surgery while abroad on "holiday" in order for it not to show on medical or medication history , purely because all of us know that being honest to the authorities would result in our entire worlds collapsing. You'd be quite surprised to learn how many do this.

Because he wanted to die, he wanted to so bad, and as soon as possible, idk why tho..? So he locked the other pilot out of the cockpit, and then the other pilot the one who wanted to die or was "supposed to take care of the plane".. just kept staring at the window, no movement, hes not moving his hands AT ALL! Imagine, being like 14-16 years old, on your flight back home. You can't wait to show your parents or partner all the pictures and tell them everything. For those who dont really understand/want some kind of explanation Germanwings Flight 9525 (4U9525/GWI9525) was a scheduled international passenger flight flying from Barcelona, Spain to Düsseldorf, Germany, operated by the Lufthansa-owned low-cost airline Germanwings. On 24 March 2015, the Airbus A320-200 jetliner crashed around 100 kilometres (62 mi) northwest of Nice, in the French Alps, killing all 144 passengers and 6 crew member. This crash was a murder-suicide planned and acted out by 27-year old co-pilot Andreas Lubitz The plane, which had taken off at 10:01 a.m. from the Barcelona-El Prat airport, disappeared from the radars at 10:39 a.m., when it was at an altitude of 2,000 meters above the department of Alpes de Alta. Provence, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Telemetry data indicated that, before disappearing from radar, the A320 would have started to fall at 10:31 a.m. and would have lost about 4,000 meters of altitude in four minutes. At first it was thought that the pilots had issued an emergency signal at 10:47, when the plane was at an altitude of 1,500 feet and in an abnormal situation, but it was actually sent by the controllers. In the words of the President of the French Republic, François Hollande, the conditions of the incident suggest that there would be no survivors. Hollande also initially stated that the plane was carrying German, Spanish and Turkish passengers, without specifying whether there were more victims of other nationalities. The main hypothesis for the cause of the aircraft crash is that co-pilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately caused it to crash. The recording of one of the black boxes of the destroyed Airbus allows us to verify that Lubitz activated the closing of the cockpit door and deliberately began the descent of the plane over the mountains. His breathing at the time of descent was normal and he ignored the captain's instructions to open the door, even when the latter tried to knock it down, but like most airplane cockpit doors made after 9/11, they were reinforced to prevent intrusion to regain control of the aircraft.

  • @speedbird9313

In my opinion the saddest crash was united airlines flight 93, like this crash, when they knew what was happening, it was already to late.

Context: On March 24 2015, Germanwings flight 9525 was a flight from Spain to Germany. The pilot got up to use the restroom while co-pilot Andreas Lubitz stayed in the cockpit. Lubitz locked the cockpit door and then let go of the plane's control. The pilot was then left outside with the flight attendant and pessengers while co-pilot Lubitz flew into a mountain. All 144 and six crew members were killed. This can be the true power of suicide.

Don’t call this suicide, that was murder. He murdered every single person on board. Them calling it a suicide was an attempt to save face, the best they could. Calling it a suicide sounds a whole lot better than having to address the fact that one of their very own pilots murdered all 144 people on a flight.
