YG literally put a whole genre into the mainstream and started the trend of “luxury” and “expensive” styles. to the bare ear it’s hard to hear, but the producers (teddy, bekuh boom, etc) layer so many intricate sounds which causes that “catchiness.”

The members are: JENNIE - the first one to start the song. She had the swans behind her. She is a lead vocalist and main rapper. (She was born in South Korea but studied abroad in New Zealand) born in 1996 LISA - the first rapper to show. Had all the cereal in her scene. She is the Main dancer, a lead rapper, sub vocalist, and maknae. (She is actually not Korean. She is THAI) born in 1997 JISOO - she is the one that you complimented her voice. She had the pink headpiece on and the sun behind her. She is the lead vocalist and visual. (she was born and raised in south korea) born in 1995 ROSÉ - she was the one that you said was pretty. The blondish colored hair. She is a lead dancer and main vocal. (She was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia) born in 1997 I really like this group and it is pretty cool how they are all so different but create such a great group.BlackPink's fans are called BLINKS. ( black + pink = blink). In every kpop group, you will come to find out that each member has a different role. The VISUAL - pretty much means the prettiest when being compared to Korean beauty standards. The MAIN vocalist - best singer The LEAD vocalist - good singer but not as good as MAIN The SUB vocalist - still good but wont be singing as much compared to MAIN and LEAD The main/lead also goes along with the rappers and dancers too. 3/4 of the girls are fluent in English. Jisoo is the one that isnt fluent but has improved tremendously. If you want to get to know them more, there are plenty of guides on KZread for you to watch. They have dance practices and amazing live performances. Recently they came to the U.S. and had interviews, so those also might help you to get to know them. If you want to continue watching them, here are some recommendations for you. Blackpink - ddu-du-ddu-du (has over 800M views) Blackpink - as if it's your last (more cute compared to their other songs) Blackpink - playing with fire (one of my favorites) Blackpink covered a song by miguel called "sure thing"...it is so good. Check it out lol Also, try not to get too involved with one group because there are soooo many other groups that have different styles. Such as: BTS, NCT, MAMAMOO, IKON, REDVELVET, A.C.E, VAV, GOT7, STRAYKIDS....and so many more. But dont get too excited either. Get to know blackpink first and you can get to other groups on your own time frame. I dont want you to feel pressured to constantly try to satisfy your audience by reacting to their fav group. Really enjoyed your reaction and first impressions! I'm a massive Blackpink fan so I'm perhaps a little biased so I'd suggest all of their tracks :) no honestly I'd say go back to their beginning of boombayah and whistle, then make your way forward so you can see their progression that way. All of their videos now have English subtitles. I don't know what it is about some groups but they're addictive and this is one of them. Enjoy!

I'm a huge BABYMETAL fan, but I've been watching a lot of BLACKPINK stuff as well. Hell, I'm even on a BLACKPINK AMINO app. I'm a level 10 on that. Everything on it is BLACKPINK. Anyway, all their songs are really good and LaLisa is my BIAS, and JISOO IS MY BIAS WRECKER... but love all the girls.
