German State Anthem: Bavaria - Bayernhymne
Bayernhymne - Hymn of Bavaria - Regional anthem of the Free State of Bavaria (Freistaat Bayern) State of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundesland der Bundesrepublik Deutschland)
The melody of the song was written by Max Kunz in 1835. The text for the original first three stanzas was written by Michael Öchsner. Both men were members of the Bürger-Sänger-Zunft München (Citizen-Singers-Guild Munich), that first performed the song on December 15, 1860.
In 1946, the poet Joseph Maria Lutz wrote a new third stanza as a replacement for the Königsstrophe (King’s Stanza), since after the abdication of King Ludwig III in 1918, Bavaria has been without a king. He also replaced the Deutsche Erde (German soil) in the first stanza with Heimaterde (native soil).

The Catholic homeland! My great great grandfather was from Bavaria, I’m proud to be a Bavarian-American. My real last name is Faulhaber but my great great grandfather changed his son’s surname to Garcia after he moved to Portugal.

Not good at all! Your great great grandfather should have kept it to Föwler because it is such a unique name. You should change it back to your Bavarian last name and keep the tradition, language, music, history, and culture alive! My last name is Chiriac from Romanian and doesn't matter where my descendants might live in whichever country of their choice, should keep their last name. Such a moving relaxing anthem indeed.

Greece once had this anthem! Under the rule of King Otto, this was Greece's anthem, since Otto was Bavarian. The Greek flag was the cross in the modern day, but the blue was more cyan-like and there was the Bavarian flag in the middle!

@JustinPlayzYT Roblox most of the Czech history, our state wasn't unified (something like Germany), the Czech lands was a union of Czech states in the HRE, the dominant was the kingdom of Bohemia, then the Margraviate of Moravia, and then Silesia and Lusatia etc. when Germany was unified they kept the federal system so for example Bavaria still has some autonomy. But when centralized communists took over Czechoslovakia, they cancelled Bohemia, Moravia etc. and Czechoslovakia became a centralized state. So Moravia is basically a former country that was located in the eastern part of the Czech lands

I am American, but my ancestors moved from the Bavarian part of the Electoral Palatinate to the British colonies in North America around 350 years ago, and I am very proud of my Bavarian heritage. Yes, you are so right. I love my Bavaria with it`s mountains, lakes, beer festivals and culture. I used to live in the Staates and I really liked it there a lot, but I was always homesick, beause I missed all this. I wished I could live in Florida in the winter and in Bavaria in the summer. I also hope, that Germany and the US can remain friends through those hard and bad times going on right now. We have the most ignorant and most stupid government ever and they are killing our country ,we`r not gonna last long anymore and it will never be the sam as it used to be when I grew up🥲Stay save and happy

Urodziłem się na Śląsku . W Polsce moja babcia wspominała mi że jej dziadkowie emigrowali z Bawarii na Śląsk za pracą bo była bieda , żyli tylko a rolnictwa a Śląsk wtedy był niemiecki i bogaty w przemysł. Teraz ja mieszka w okolicy Regensburg i historia zatoczyła koło znowu jestem Bawarczykiem chociaż niw wyprę się skąd pochodzę urodziłem się w Strzelcach Opolskich. Te dwie historyczne krainy na zawsze pozostaną w moim sercu.

@@giftbox2369 My ancestors were fighting for Germany and I would do the same. It's terrible enough that not all german states became one. Bavaria belong to the rest of Germany in the same way like every other state of the modern german country. Too bad Prussia died in 1945.

Wrong one. The only true bavarian anthem is the one by Josef Maria Lutz. It was sung, when Pope Benedict (Rest in peace) visited Munich.

@@Marco-bf4uu No it wasn't ! Bavaria fought AGAINST the Prussian Germans! Bavaria was a traitor state who fought with Napoleon.Many Bavarians were, and some still are, separatist catholics. In 1871 they did manage to be German when they fought against France as part of Bismarck's Germany.
