    The Foxtrott Two is aimed at the German market, that's why it doesn't come with an opening device. The Foxtrott One, however, has a thumb disc for one-hand opening.

    Yes, it's legal because it is a two-hand opening knfie. There's also the Foxtrott One which is basically the same as the Foxtrott Two but comes with a thumb disc as opening device.

    Hello Stephan, I'm late to the party on this particular video. However as a long term (3-4) years user of Pohl Force EOD blades for military duty use I can certainly attest to their outstanding ergonomic design and excellent build quality. Overall an excellent video providing those new to Pohl Force blades a solid frame of reference. Keep up the great work! All the best from the UK. Cheers! 👍🏼🍻

    As a machinist and instructor, I would love to see the processes to mill out the G10/titanium on this knife. I love the fact that adjusting the pivot screw doesn't require a special tool. Good looking versatile knife. Great review!

    Hi JPC .. just wanted to let you know there is now an official USA distributor for Pohl Force - Pohl Force USA. The Foxtrot ONE is available in the USA; this knife has the same specifications as the Foxtrot Two which Stephan so well described in his review. The Foxtrot One comes with a thumb wheel allowing for one handed opening .

    I love this knife and while its price is in the higher end, I agree that it is still a good value when everything is considered. Compared to similarly priced knives you might even say it's a steal. Thanks for the review Stefan! Great to see more exposure of this unique knife!

    Good review, Stefan. I enjoy watching your reviews, and seeing knives that are typically made outside of the United States, primarily in Europe and Japan. I like the look of the knife. Very interesting blade shape, looks very similar to a bread kitchen knife. Definitely dig the pattern on the G-10 scales and the wire clip, like you see on some Spyderco models. Nice thumb ramp and additional thumb ramp on the spine for Saber and Filipino grips, I'm sure it gives excellent control when cutting.

    Good review and the knife (Pohl Force, impressive as always!) is an interesting addition to the SSP :-) one remark: you can tie the lanyard through the pivot and lanyard hole and that way have a construction that keeps the knife to you hand, try it, I do it with my Alpha.

    A lovely review! Thank you for sharing it with us. I am a little confused by the mission statement of this knife. I tend to use fixed blades for most things outdoor, past food preparation and whittling. But it is a lovely knife that seems very well designed.

  • @YasumotoUS
    @YasumotoUS11 жыл бұрын

    At nearly $400 USD, that is far from a cheap folding blade. But the price is not out of line with other highly engineered folders of similar make. Also, thanks for sharing your findings on the design of the knife. The hand positions alone make that a very desirable model! Lastly, some humor (from an American perspective): On the Foxtrot 2's product page, Google translates "Die Scheidensysteme" as "The vaginal systems." Yes, sheaths! Come on google! :)

    Actually, Pohl Force's Kilo One is the fixed blade version of the Foxtrott - or you could also say the Foxtrott is the folding knife version of the Kilo One. I guess many people like the "coolness factor" (yes, I know, that's also someone else's territory) of heavy-duty folders. And I have to admit, I'm not completely immune to this phenomenon. ;-)

    I would say that the inconsistency of the secondary bevel might very well affect the performance of the knife. Until that is corrected that is... Considering that it is D2..In my experience D2 is very hard to work with. It is easy to keep sharp...but when you have to remove lots of metal...that is quite a chore. I bought a few knives with lop sided edges, but for the price..I think they should go the extra mile. However this seems like a great knife. Is in Germany legal?

    Do you recommend this knife for camping and food prep when hiking? The santoku style blade looks awesome for food prep at a camp, I do use santoku blades in my kitchen and love them. I now use a Strider SMF for that but the blade is a bit short for food prep. How do you like this blade for utility tasks?

    Mein lieber Herr Gesangsverein, als ich den Vergleich mit dem Buck 110 gesehen habe, fiel mir ja doch der Kiefer runter. Was für ein Brummer. Das Griffprofil gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut, auch weil die Fräsungen sich auf der Titanseite fortsetzen. Bei der Klinge bin ich mir noch unschlüssig, Sheepsfoot sagen mir eher nicht so zu, auch wenn ich bisher noch mit keiner an irgendwas gescheitert bin. Danke für das detailreiche Review.

    It's a cool blade and without a doubt it's very competent. However, the letters "EOD" will for most military personell (and others also I assume) be forever tied with the paragons of manly prowess that are Explosive Ordinance Disposal. Using it for a knife without a connection to them is like naming it "SEAL" for "South East Asian Liner-lock". Excellet video.

    The only thing I don't dig is the lack of a flipper or thumstud, since it does have a "tactical" look to it. I know that's for a reason- A lot of European countries don't allow the carry of locking folders, or knives with thumbstuds, flippers, or quick deployment methods, like spring assist, switchblade etc. Personally, and this is my two cents, I think that is silly and ridiculous. Switchblades is one thing, but manual folders, spring assist knives, and collectible knives are quite another.

    Great review as always, but I question the value of a folder that really wants to be a fixed blade. As you point out, it's too large for your pocket and by making it a fixed blade you can (a) make it a real chopper and (b) put more of the value into the knife blade and/or lower the cost. The Italian craftsmanship really shone in that 0.6 mm bevel. :o)

    This is a departure from your normal presentation style, Stefan, and I wonder if it is for the better. It seems more like an infomercial, especially given the opening vignette. I understand your interest in, and passion for, knives, but I hope this hasn't been misplaced. In a knife review the two fundamental questions must always be: What is the knife's purpose? Does it serve this purpose? I find no satisfactory answer to these questions regarding this tool and sense you circumvented them.
