The Combat Mission games desperately need more publicity. Such a great series.

What they desperately need is a new game engine, but they are content milking the engine until we're all dead. Maybe if they sold it for a reasonable price, but not when I have to pay over $100 CAD for a single game.

@arandomperson7713 No, they're working on improving the performance of the existing engine. I doubt they ever have any plans for a new engine.

Its a great series with dev moves that shoot themselves in the foot. From the performance to the insane prices of the DLC.

Agreed with the CMBS being a bit touchy, but would personally love to see it and the mod back on the channel. Awesome videos as always Diplex!

You should definitely do black sea with the 2022 mod, would be interesting to see, like ive said before I dont see how its controversial when it was okay in 2014 and also throughout all the middle eastern wars where Americans and Muslims were dying.

The Flak 18 was built by Bofors for the German Reichswehr (name of the German armed forces between 1919 and 1935). That was to cheat the treaty of Versailles. That is also the reason for the name. German guns were named after their year of development, but i was a simple trick to give a new gun an "older" name. Later version of the Flak 18 were then called Flak 36 or Flak 37. Because the Nazis didn´t have that big of a problem breaking the treaty in the open. 8.8 is the guns caliber. The full name is therefore 8,8 Flak 18 (or 36/37).

#1 The tanks should have been in ambush positions on the far side of the river, with radio-equipped command units in positions with good lines of sight in front of those tanks. When enemy infantry appear, call down artillery and the tanks withdraw as soon as they score a few kills that will slow the armored units. The idea is to separate the enemy armor from the enemy infantry whilst still keeping enemy armor from over-runing the near side of the river. #2 The guns should have not been right on the bank of the river. Giving them narrower fields of fire in protected positions would ensure they survive longer & hence score more kills (such as that angled ravine in the center of the map). #3 I would not have sacrificed that infantry unit on the far side of the river and the Panzerschrecks would be better deployed to ambush any penetrating enemy armor on the near side of the river.

I was on the edge to either getting CMRT and Normandy, I've been playing shock force 2 and black sea lately. Definitely going to check out those games now by the way they hold up from your gameplay

It’s much more simple than modern warfare, but the lack of radio communication makes it pretty hard to play

I'm pretty sure one of the original batch of CM games was in Africa. I had Barborossa. I loved it. Not as much as the Close Combat franchise, but still very loved.

Hi Diplix, I have got Fortress Italy it's a great edition as you can play as the Italians and fight them, I've modded the game quite a bit and I have alot of fun.

Shock Force2 and Battle for Italy are both on Steam.

The older Combat missions were neat too, I wish they'd bring back North Africa (the first version of Combat Mission had North Africa)

I know you’re not a combat mission expert but be careful with having the infantry run so much, it tires them out a lot making them perform worse and if you run them too much they will go into an exhausted or fatigued state which they cannot run in making them sitting ducks

great game, but it badly needs a graphical and UI update / overhaul.

What is this thing about a Combat Mission game about North Africa? is it a real rumor? OGM I can't wait if that's true. 0:57
