Maybe I will invest in them if they can be installed on my balcony Windows. I am desperate for keeping heat out and the cold would be a nice plus so I won't need to use as much gas. I wouldn't use it but then I learned that in winter mold can grow when walls get below 16-17 degrees and I had an existing issue that probably got worse in winter from not turning on the heat (it wasn't THAT cold last year, nothing that layers of clothes couldn't fix)

Mine got stuck so it wouldn't roll down anymore. I thought, well it can not be that bad since many poeple sleep with bright lights on, Tv on, or with the sun shining into their room trough their super thin curtains. Oh was I wrong.... I felt like even the smallest light pierced through my closed eyelids and it felt so terrible once the sun rose. I would instantly wake up and couldn't get back to sleep. My first thought was: wow i REALLY NEEDED complete darkness but for me, until then, it was just normal to sleep in a pitch black room. But I learned that it is NOT, it is a fucking privilege 😂 still isn't fixed but I use a sleep mask so....yeah i kinda got used to it now but i will forever appreciate the sleep i had in absolute darkness. It kinda makes you light sensitive though. Sometimes I would go outside and just be overwhelmed with especially sun or even snow cause it was so bright. I don't have that anymore since my Rollos stopped working😂 maybe i should fix that and enjoy my wonderful sleep in darkness again.....hmmmm

The kids in Germany often have a nightlight... as Babies they are in this darkness, but they do definitely have a term where they are afraid. But also often they had into their parents rooms cuddle up and are fine with darkness. Latest with 10 they're so used to that they have problems to sleep without. It keeps not only 100% of the light outside, but also most noise... a huge storm/hurricane might rattle a lot, but otherwise you won't hear anything. Only if someone would try to break in - and as they are built-in the house with brick and cement aa well as often go into the ground... made of metall covered with hard plastic, someone would need quite some time even with a saw to break them... It's in almost any appartement, even rentals... mostly manual, so always usable. Fancier are the electric ones

It kinda is. It's also pretty hard to break into those when theyre closed. Makes so much noise, no one even bothers. It's also used when it hails, so the windows dont get destroyed. In the summer, i always only have the blinds down door to garden open. If someone tries to come in, i either wake up early enough or my german sheperd will growl and make anyone piss themselfs :D
