Gen Rundstedt was a sociopath just like his leader, Hitler. Those cowards tortured and gassed millions of small children. There's nothing noble about torturing and gassing children. What is wrong with some people here?

@@mantabondI think so. German noble titles were in order: Freiherr (Baron), Graf (Count), Herzog (Duke) Fürst(Prince), Prinz/Kronprinz (Prince/Crown Prince), König (King), Kaiser (Emperor). When the nobility was abolished nobility was allowed to incorporate their titles as part of their surname and keep the von unlike Austria-Hungary so in Germany for example Freiherr Wolfram von Richthofen (WW2 FeldMarschall in the Luftwaffe, cousin to Manfred von Richthofen and Lothar von Richthofen) became Wolfram Freiherr von Richthofen. In Austria for example I believe unless going into exile nobility had to drop the von officially and the titles though sometimes did use them unofficially. Some still used them officially but essentially lived in exile I think. I hope this helps somewhat feel free to correct me if I've made any mistakes.

Note how he wears the insignia, on his collar tabs and epaulettes, he is entitled to wear as a retired General and having been awarded the title of honorary ‘Chef’ of a regiment. Therefore, he doesn’t wear the red, triple ‘Arabesken’ of a Field Marshal on his collar but the Bars of an ordinary Infantry Officer.

I guess that Germans back then had a learning disability since they they didn't learn nothing after ww1. The old criminal was charged with war crimes but as a true coward he played the victim card- oh, I'm too old and sick, poor me. @@mirquellasantos2716your comment shows your stupidity. Talented generals also lose wars. Being talented doesn't mean they will never lose. Napoleon being a genius also lost battles. A general is as good as his army, he can only strategize but in the end if his army is weak, supply lines are dwindling, fuel is dried up, higher administration is incompetent, there is very little a general can do at that point.
