Just to get one thing straight here. He is my favourite phantom, ever, regardless of what other people say and and/or think his singing and his voice made me ugly cry, appreciate him, feel for the phantom, cheer for the phantom, be scared of the phantom and he captivated me and he touched my soul and heart in my deepest feels with them vocals and appearance as the phantom. He IS the Phantom of the Opera, for me. Period. End of discussion.

The reason Gerald Butler doesn't want to talk about 300 is because of all the hate he got from it, yes it was his breakthrough role but it made a lot of people really butthurt. There were death threats to Butler from Iranians and Turks because of how it portrayed Greeks and how it portrayed Persianate cultures. Add to that a lot of critics took the film as being some type of historical documentary, with the portrayal of individuals and the societies and morals presented in the movie. Yes it is retarded but that is why he never talks about 300.

I really enjoyed his signing in Phantom. Expressive, I'm a rock & heavy metal guy, and I have a big thing for deeper voices. That debate is really about theatre vs. movies. Movies have professional level acting that theatre can't replicate. Theatre has professional level singing that movies can't replicate. Both are great for different reasons.

My heart quickened when that phantom of the opera question was asked. lol anytime anybody even mentions a musical my inner theatre fan screams in delight.
