Bravo Italia! Danesi and Antropova were on fire. Others also helped a little more in offense. The players are still getting used to playing together so we cannot expect a perfect match. Germany almost looked like they were going to take set 4, but Italy stayed strong and took the win ❤. I just realized that this match does not count for VNL fantasy and I have Kate in my starting lineup 😔. Onto the next match 💪🏻💙🇮🇹

It was a good game, from the 3rd set I hoped for the comeback... I feel bad for Germany but congratulations to Italy

I regret what i said last year about Antropova's induction in the NT. I followed the Italian's league way closer this time and she had an amazing season with Scandicci. I don't think she's a natural, in a sense that she doesn't have the best tecnique but that girl always gives her best, with the right attitude. It would be a dream to have them both in court at the same time but right now, i would choose Antropova over Egonu. When they're playing their best, Egonu's unstoppable but she tends to make many mistakes one after the other. Last year Turkiye were the ones to beat, i said right from the start they would win every tournament but this year there are a lot of new talents and veteran players coming back like Zhu, Buijs, De Gennaro, Poulter and some teams who have gotten better like Poland that's already qualified for Paris, the Netherlands that won a 3-0 bronce medal match against Italy and the Dominican Republic which has beaten Serbia and China 3 and 2 times in a row. What a wonderful time to be alive.

Antropova is strong and maybe she will become stronger than Egonu, maybe. But, with all due respect, preferring her to Egonu at this moment seems outside of any technical and tactical logic.

Not still the best team overall, but Italy was clever and resilient to win the 4th set from 9 points down. You never know what can happen in a 5th set tiebreaker and a defeat at this time would have been catastrophic...

Tattica strana della Germania che ha battuto spesso sul nostro libero permettendo al palleggiatore di giocare molto con i centrali , cosa che ha mascherato la nostra difficoltà di passare in banda . Rispetto a Mazzanti ci sono meno varianti nel gioco meno 7 e pipe e più alzate in veloce avanti , le alzate risultano un po'' più lente ma c'è da dire che si sono trovati da veramente poco tempo. Grande lavoro a muro , penso sia il fondamentale che ci ha permesso di vincere la partita . Antropova bene ma non super cosa dovuta al fatto che non c'è Ognjenović ad alzare . Questo credo stia a dimostrare che fare una classifica del valore degli opposti senza considerare l'alzatore è veramente una mezza assurdità

Vero, spero che il gioco si velocizzi un po'. Poi spero che con Egonu ci siano più schemi che sfruttino l'opposto (tipo pipe e gamma, che finora non ho mai visto fare ad Antropova - se non sbaglio).

Si, la Kate non usa pipe e meno che mai la gamma, perciò, pur assai felice di avere un talento come il suo nelle nostre fila, ritengo che Velasco dica bene a ritenere Paolona ancora titolare..vedremo. Orthmann rotta è stato un peccato mortale già per la povera e sfortunata Novara (che in tema infortunio ha dettato legge, quest'anno) e poi per la sua NT...buon proseguimento 🙋🏻‍♂️

Come avevo spiegato dopo la prima gara contro la Polonia, occorreva un po' di pazienza: la nostra Nazionale aveva avuto poco tempo per trovare l'intesa. Puntuale è arrivata la vittoria: demoliti i commenti ridicoli sulle nostre giocatrici non degne della Nazionale, persino a livello di serie A2.

Siamo stati un po’ sfigati ad iniziare subito con la Polonia… inoltre Velasco mi deve spiegare perché è partito con Cambi e Degradi titolari in amichevole e poi alla prima di VNL con Bosio e Omoruyi per poi tornare nella seconda con Cambi Degradi….

Is that because Serie A finished couple of weeks ago, so Italy doesn’t have Egonu, Shilla, etc??

No è perché in finale di CEV c'erano due squadre italiane, Milano e Conegliano, quindi le giocatrici hanno avuto una settimana di riposo. Dalla settimana prossima entrano tutte le titolari: Degennaro, fahr, Orro, Pietrini, Egonu ecc...

Almanya tam bir hayal kırıklığı! Geçen yıl "Alman voleybolu çıkışta.." diyorlardı ,öyle birşey olmadığını görmüştük. Bu yılsa geçen yıldan da kötü görünüyorlar! Almanya gibi her türlü imkana sahip bir ülkenin çok daha üst düzey olmasını beklersin ama 2. sınıf bir takım görünümündeler. Alman voleybol federasyonu işini iyi yapmıyor!
