I have had a few dji/vista based quads, never found myself charging batteries for them other than to fly for review. I really, really don't like the goggles...this is a barrier to my enjoyment. This one while not a typical burner I like to fly I tend to ensure I have a few batteries at the ready for this one. At this time I have 4 batteries to fly it with again tomorrow. Hoping the wind reports on Tuesday and Wednesday are correct.

Great video Nick! Agreed that getting to both USB (Vista & mainboard) is a pain! I was able to get the USB-C in by taking off one of the motors. But once it's bound, updated and set up, it's a blast! Thanks for the video.

15mph + gusts. There is a moment in the flight when I pull around the far end tree and the wind blew me off course, and another moment then I was flying slower moving to the front of the yard on the chimney side, just as a clear the house I get blown off course again. Overall pretty impressive for something with prop protection and a mount for HD camera.

oh forsure. The weight is an issue, the more weight the more slowly, and start sooner, we have to turn as it will "slide" more.

either naked gopro or SMO 4k. The naked gopro we have to do ourselves. The smo 4k can be bought from a number of resellers. Racedayquads, pyrodrone etc.

Hi! thanks for the review. I wonder how you recorded the footage. I'ts from the vista camera? If going analog I'll still be able to record hd from the mounted camera? Im looking for a versatile quad that can film fairly well but also can semi freestyle a bit. I'm between this and the anger 85x HD. I think this camera is better but had this question. Thank you!!!

This is a vista quad, the only option to record is with the goggle dvr. If we add an HD camera of any sort it will have its own recording function.

We really can't take off without the prop guards. The motors/props would be on the ground.

Hey Nick- I have another question for you. What would I have to do to get the camera wire to work with the SMO 4K camera.. would I have to re-do the camera wire or put a different plug on it ( what kind of plug)or both? Thanks a lot for any help you can give me. As always- much appreciated

I really don't know. I have the SMO camera but haven't connected it up yet. My suspicion is we just need to power it via the wires, I am not certain if this comes with the correct wire order or not thought. I need to investigate the camera more.

Hey Nick- Captain Drone said the SMO comes with the wire and connector so just have to change the plug over. He said the wire colors are the same- just splice the new plug in.

Thank you very much for this video that helped me along with others to decide on this drone. But I have a problem, no doubt due to my inexperience as I am a novice although I have already flown a similar drone. I have analog version VTX Runcam Nano2 Camera - With FrSky R-XSR receiver. And I am unable to bind it with the transmitter (a Taranis Q X7) but basically because I don't know where the receiver's bind button is. I don't know if I have to disarm the drone to release the receiver and if so, how to do it. I have not found any video that explains it either and I wonder if it is something so simple and basic that everyone knows how to do it (everyone except me) I would appreciate it if you could get me out of doubt, Well, I really want to fly this drone.

Unfortunately this could be a firmware compatibility between the radio and the receiver. Frsky has change the firmware and reduced compatibility. I wouldn't want to dive in to deep as this issue is very detailed. The basics is that you will likely have to upgrade the radio firmware to be able to bind to the receiver. If you have other quads I don't suggest doing it as it will make the radio no longer work with those receivers. If you did upgrade the radio firmware and have other drones you will have to update the receiver firmware of those then.

Not really with this one. This takes off and lands from the prop guard.

I bought this..... after eventually flying it. Stripped it for parts. Got fed up of its yaw washouts/inability to pull out of dives and its brittle as a dji fpv drone whoops. Wiasmy first and no doubt my last venture into the cinewhoop world. I like something I'm not afraid of crashing.

Do you suggest Tattu R line 4S 750mah 95C lipo battery for Cinelog 25? This battery weight is about 82 grams only 2 grams more than 650mah R Line. This battery probably combines both flying agility for manueuver and more capacity for flying extended time. On the other hand Flywoo has introduced recently a new explorer 750mah LiHV 4s 80c battery which weights only 68 grams. Is it better to prefer a high voltage battery with same capacity but less weight? Or the Tattu 750 R line although it is a standard lipo it might performs better?

I can't really suggest a specific battery I have not flown. Generally speaking in lipos there is not secret mix to get more mah and less weight. A more dense battery will discharge faster allowing more performance for aggressive flight. The lighter battery will not have the same discharge rate and thus less performance in aggressive flight. It might be suited for calm, flat exploratory flights.

@@MrSabram07 I finally have the cinelog 25 just this week. The props aren't really loud but you can tell its presence from 20 ft away. It's not really bad. I read that 5 bladed props are even more quieter so I purchased gemfan d63 2.5" props last night at Pyrodrone. Hopefully it will be here by weekend. Have you bought yours?

Is there any DVR footage that has a OSD? I wanna see how caddx vista works😅

not at the time the video was created. Now there are secondary tools for that, but I am not sure they work for stock vista and goggles. I think the goggles need WTF firmware on them at least.

Seems like the video has a lot of blur/jello going on. Was it recorded in the goggles?

the HD version won't work with the eachine goggles. The hd version requires the black dji goggles.

@@mauricioinocencio The video quality, penetration and range won't likely be as good as the HD version. The hd version will have higher latency and analog

No, in a house I wouldn't. The weight could mean broken household items. The size will also make it more difficult to get through doors and through the access, just general nearly no margin for error. But for slow cruising to maybe do a home tour or something it would be much more doable. Inside with the A75 HD I would be able to run laps around the cinelog25 :)

Did you add the aero mode in your settings ? The one I have only has angle mode and horizontal mode. Please let me know which one you use to do acro. Thanks.

acro mode aka rate mode is actually the default mode when we aren't in angle or horizon. We don't add it but rather not in angle or horizon.

I haven't flown the protek, but I think the biggest issue with that design is the prop protection isn't very durable, and if one area gets damaged that entire side would need to be replaced. The cinelog25 is a pretty remarkable flyer and doesn't have that same issue.

@@nzii3 Each prop (size, pitch, shape) is going to have a different sound, and in the case of prop protection that also plays a role in the sound profile.

So I know I am getting to this a little late, but I am actually a little curious about something. I recently got this drone, and the first thing I noticed is that it comes with three blade props. All of the reviews I have seen have five bladed props on them, but the official description does list 3 bladed as stock. I am just curious as to what the difference in the number of props would be on handling, sound, etc....Wondering why there is a difference.....

The basic premise on this is more blades will corner better, or hold the corning in speed better. They will also be slight less noisy.

hey Nick,you almost have it right. the cine in cinewhoop is pronounced " sinnah ". the cinelog seems pretty nice compared to others but i like my whoops a little smaller.lol. great video tho and fantastic flying as always.

If your recording with say a go pro, we need less and less wind or use the goprp stabilization. I normally have wind 10-14mph, I often detail the wind mph in the video. If I didn't in this video I would estimate somewhere in the range previously mentioned.

That means we have to add a receiver to the quad to bind our radio to.

I have come to appreciate the sound of flight, it is a tough balance, sometimes the narration can over saturate the flight sound, vs not being heard in the narration.

I really find it hard to believe you don't have a battery pad. Don't you think that will keep the battery from sliding around and not to mention screw heads might damage your battery. Great video by the way

I’m using D63’s on a 95X V2 and I can turtle. I don’t have an action camera mounted, just a battery.

We can use either depends on how we purchase it. If we need to use an tx16s we likely want to buy it with an frsky xm+ or r-xsr receiver, if we want to use the black square radio we don't need a receiver added the air unit will do both video transmission as well as control link.

@@lucasceleste4743 Crossfire, ghost, tracer and expresslrs are going to be the elite control link options. Which one is best, or best for indoor shots kinda hard for me to contribute to that as I have only flown in two houses, mine and in law's house. And in both of those cases frsky worked fine.

I don't think I would make such a distinction. Often we have to consider the motor we run based on the quad and the weight. Props are normally a secondary thought as they are cheap and we can try a number of different props.

its extremely light, i could see how you have troubles outside, maybe try a larger more weighty quad for outside flights it'll feel more stable. i fly a babyape 2 4s quad usually and on windy days i get tossed about. me personally i feel every single drone flys different, and you chose a really fragile, slow first quad, which isnt a bad thing. but buy a tinyhawk 2 or a babyape and you'll see how different it feels. @kuldar

Sure, the added weight will decrease flight time and likely have an impact on the high speed agility.

I blew my ESC on my betaFPV 95v3 pusher by landing on a piece of gravel. the board I bought to replace... either I suck or its DOA... very frustrating.. don't think I want a Pusher frame ever again.

KZread comments don't allow for images to be submitted. My rates on pitch and roll are 1.20 with a super rate of .75, yaw is 1.3 and .8 I hope that helps.

I presume your looking a analog versions as I don’t think the 4K has a dji/vista version? If so Do you plan to have an external hd camera on both? The fpv/goggle view of the 4K version is much different than what the 4K recording is. The fpv/ goggle view is better on the cinelog25 is better even analog version. The version I have here is the dji/vista version which requires different goggles

@@silentjack4446 I would go with the cinelog 25 then, or even the cinelog30 or 35. The larger the prop the more effectively it will carry our external camera weight. But size will also matter depending the space we plan to fly the 25 might be the way to go, but it will struggle to be very aggressive with the session.

@@NickBurnsFPV ..oh yes that a important point, I thought the 70g would be to handle, but not really. Damn I wanted a small cine copter with freestyle possibilities. At the moment I flew a cinepro 4k with a Tarsier. A Tarsier could be a solution for the cinelog 25.

@@silentjack4446 yea, we could put a tarsier in a cinelog. The tarsier was the best fpv and recording of the dual purpose cameras. Surprisingly they haven't continue to develop it.

@@NickBurnsFPV I’m in south China, starts to be much warmer here, but that’s not the case. I fly many quads and this feels just not right. Just wanted to check if you had noticed anything out of the ordinary. It flys really nice, love it.

How come the 550mah is heaviest? Looks bulkiest but how are the 650 and 520 that light? Thank you.

I can't really claim to know how the weight works out with the different batteries, it could be a variety of differences in layering materials or chemical makeup. The more square batteries tend to hold voltage longer and perform better in high demand flight. The more long batteries tend to weigh less but don't hold voltage as well or output enough for high demand setups or flights.

@@jeffclassics c rating is supposed to be the performance of the battery, but the issue with that is the c rating in our hobby is not standarized. Its just a "rating" battery manufacturers print on the label. I have had low c rated batteries outperform higher c rated batteries.

@@NickBurnsFPV I figured manufacturers can print the C rating whatever they want. That's bad. Researching the brand is very useful. Btw, the new cinelog25 has new motors. I plan to buy the analog at 130ish grams, can it lift a session5 at 250g u think is also possible?

sure, we can diy many light option. Depending the led power requirements we can wire to 5v from the flight controller or vcc for full battery voltage.

@@nickrich710 I think I might understand. This does ring that we might be using speech to text. The remote with the tinygo is a propriety protocol. Unfortunately we have to get that receiver from geprc, and I am not sure they sell it on their own.

That flys similar to the wingsuit s . I seem to be flying the wingsuit s whenever I get a chance its so versatile. So fun to fly. Never flew my other cinewhoop as much. Great review!

@@jkspinalchoice I have only flown a few. I would look seriously at the iflight a75 HD. Betafpv also has the Beta75x HD, which has a "Naked" vista in it, they removed the heat sinks from the vista, this brings the weight down by 10+ which sure helps when flying inside.

Its mainly what sort of flight we want and the size of the space we plan to fly in. Well payload is also a consideration. If we add the payload of say a gopro 10 we will likely want the larger version as it will have the power train to carry more weight effectively.

@@nunofaria7774 for indoor the smaller cinelog25 would be more well suited. I suspect the flight will likely be slower as being aggressive and having speed could result in items inside getting damaged as it isn't light weight like a 20gram analog whoop.

Would this carry a hero8 ?

Sure. It won't fly as aggressively with the additional weight, but carry it just fine.

@@NickBurnsFPV that's fair enough. Well I'm kind of 50/50 as I really like this little quad, bit I don't want to ruin its flight characteristics with a heavy gopro 8. If I had digital it wouldn't be an issue, but I'm still with analogue for now. Decisions Decisions, what do I do?.

Hi Nick could you please come to my rescue? I bought one of these as a bnf and took it apart for parts. However I never used them so thought id put it back together. But can't remember what is correct board alignment and motor direction. Any help would be fabulous

@@gmivisualsjason3729 Oh not necessarily. The way mine is setup, the camera pointing away from us, the usb is on the right, with the usb port being below the board. Is that what your looking for?

I have been watching your videos since quarantine when I got really into fpv. I really appreciate your thorough reviews and overall knowledge on the topic of fpv. Even though I can’t afford much your videos are always a blast to watch.

Hi hello I just tried the upgraded version with the 1404 4500kv motors and I don't find this quad and the any pusher to be considered a good quad. You sacrifice a lot for what? You can have a great footage from an upper mounted smo 4k on a non pusher. ....I would prefer honest comparisons telling what a pusher brings in to view. On the other side your video brought to me hope thinking this could do some freestyle in between gaps and trees but other quads are far better. I'm really disappointed because of the quad pusher vs standard . Is just no good at all in my humble opinion.

I can tell your unhappy, I don't know where my video was less than honest, this is the first negative comment I have received on this video (that I can recall from memory). In your comparing other quads with upper mounted smo 4k footage what are you comparing it to? As far as other quads being better at gaps and freestyle, again what are we comparing it to? This product is the best I have flown in its class. Its class being 2.5inch prop, dji fpv, prop protected. If we compare it to others that don't fit that criteria is that an honest comparison?

@@NickBurnsFPV Hi Nick , Is not that your video was negative about. Im more concerned about the topic of Cinewhoop inverted pusher category. I fly a Holybro Kopis Mini , a Geprc Holybro Crocodile 4 inch and even a Diatone Roma F5 they are in my Humble opinion great on their categories they bring their value in differently. Im a begineer when I saw the way you were flying the Cinelog , I thought to myself , This quad is powerful enough to do quick agressive flights without a gopro whatsoever and it will allow me to learn crash and hit gaps and crash and ir will be protected . My Cinelog is even more powerful than the one you have with the 1404 4500Kv motors but it seems heavy , bulky and no good (Unless we are as good as you are) for flying and learning. I also have a Phantom HD toothpick and it is great! it delivers over the expectations. I might be wrong but Pushers are for another think there is no room for them to be used for a training in crashing without breaking them from scratch. This is were I found myself frustrated . No intention of building the message on your video my message goes to the Cinewhoop pusher category which is just another world to be used for Gopro etc etc but a category dissapointing when having broader intentions. By having one with even larger motors than the one you have I thought it would be more "agressive" more "capable" but even the Crocodile baby 4 inch performs better.... sorry again for transmitting negativity. I will never buy a Cinewhoop again! and I will sell the cinelog as for me is no good. Thank you for your videos , your channel and the way you fly ... I wish I will improve to fly trying to reach your level!

whats better for speed u feel . cinelog25 is light with 1404 motors . cinelog frame is light at 53gr with . the protek 25 frame is 93gr , hglrc sector 25 frame is 57gr and their analog version comes in at 143gr with 1404 motors and a weaker vtx than the cinelog25 which with 1404 motors and faster kv that is at 3600kv vs the cinelog25 1404 4500 kv motors is a big difference in kv esp when speaking speed. the cinelog25 analog version is 111gr 32gr lighter than the slower kv motor hglrc sector 25 . So WHAT UP. What 2.5 inch bnf is faster mph then and how much with same 4s battery? not hglrc , iflight, or betaflight . What one then? there probably is one just dont know of it yet.

maybe the hglrc racewhoop 2.5 but that isnt comparable in weight it has 2004 motors and weights 217gr and 6s . no thx on that as it will be over 300gr with battery which is heavy for a 2.5in.

Always love your reviews. Every time you mention pod racing makes me want to play eps 1 racer on n64 (it’s remastered on switch btw). Finding common ground with neighbors is key for flying in the neighborhood. Also hoa’s 🤦🏻‍♂️.

See heaps of these posted in social media etc, some cool urban shoots and I like watching them over freestyle flights as they're so much more relaxing. Buuuuut I can't stand flying them personally, I want to just tear around and love high cam tilt and the racing feel.
