    Top Gun has the majority of their entire team doing level 5 skills (with maybe up to 4 people not performing those skills), and it showed because their tumbling was the highest on semis and second highest in finals (barely edged out by Cheetahs). Georgia scored the 12th highest in tumbling. That won't fly in large coed, especially if their new guys don't have the skills that their competitors do.

    Stingray athlete posted: Bragging is a sign of insecurity. Greatness does not go unnoticed. GA coach responded saying: see photo and let me know if you're being honest with yourself. The picture was a screenshot of the athlete tweeting that Stingrays brought home the gold. The official Stingray twitter actually asked the GA coach to stop directly tweeting their athletes in a negative way. I actually hope the old Georgia does make a comeback. Their choreography is always incredible.

    what I don't get is why people are underestimating this team. Sure, it has been a rough couple years for the program, but that just means something big is going to happen. Most of their level 5 athlete probably aged out and they had to start over with the level 5 teams. Although Stingrays may have the numbers that GA doesn't, GA has the history and the legacy that will never die. Pride of The South, it says it their name. I've always been a big fan of GA and I've been watching them this year and they are making a comeback. My team competed against their level 4 coed team a few years back and their technique was flawless. it may be a difference in coaching on the teams, but for all I know, It's a new year. All bets are off. Pride of The South will always be a favorite of mine.

    this gym is obviously making somewhat of a comeback considering both of their level 4 teams won this weekend along with second place in the junior 3 division. one of the level 4 teams got grand champs and the other beat stingrays frost

    Its a new year, and we don't know what TG or GA has in store. we've already seen cheetahs. We can't judge teams based of previous years. We all might be blown away by GA. Who knows who has better skills. We have to wait and see. Although, I'm very excited GA is back in large coed. Each coach/gym has their reasons and best interested in their teams.

    i disagree. I did not see the calling out a cheerleader but things could have been misunderstood. At georgia some coaches seem harsh but are really joking around, therefore the coach could have known the athlete and was joking around. When you have more teams than another gym it is very hard to compare national and world champion titles because of the size ratios. the "old georgia" is referenced to cleaner harder routines and legendary coaches returning. georgia is making a comeback

    And saying GA is only going into large because they'll have a better chance at getting to day 2 is like saying F5 is going medium because they think it'll be easier to win...

  • @l0ol0ool
    @l0ol0ool11 жыл бұрын

    How does one of the head coaches publicly calling out a Stingray athlete make it a family environment? If anything, it's a deterrent as to why Georgia has decreased in popularity. Having 3 locations means that there's an influx in athletes, which is NEVER a bad thing. Stingrays just have a quality product, and one of the most successful teams in the business, which is why so many athletes are drawn to it.

  • @l0ol0ool
    @l0ol0ool10 жыл бұрын

    Stingrays are a very consistent program, even without Orange. Smoke used to do extremely well at Worlds and NCA (they won NCA in 2009). With GA, it's a complete mystery. They won Worlds in 2010, but they haven't been able to make top 10 for the past 2 years? That seems so sketchy, from a parent perspective if I wanted to take my child there. (I don't have a kid, just using it as an example). If I were to choose between a consistent program and a complete mystery, the answer is obvious.

  • @CougarFreshman09

    No, not really, I think Georgia is just going back to the division they feel they'll do better in...Just like F5 is going medium because about half of the team graduated/aged out so they're adjusting.

    Not their best, but glad to see GA!

  • @l0ol0ool
    @l0ol0ool10 жыл бұрын

    But when they were medium, they didn't even have 6 guys with level 5 skills. It just seems like the guys brought in are going to be used for partner stunts, considering that Stingrays has 2 coed teams now, and Trinity's D&G merged with another gym, so the Georgia coed scene seems to be pretty filled up. It just seems rather unrealistic that most of their, potentially, 18 guys are level 5 material. We'll just have to wait and see.

  • @l0ol0ool
    @l0ol0ool10 жыл бұрын

    Also, those are completely different scenarios. F5 is downsizing because they have 30 quality level 5 athletes. They wouldn't have any trouble making it to finals in any division. How many athletes on GA's large coed team are actually level 5 material? Not even all their guys in this video had level 5 skills. It's just hard to grasp that they're not just adding in guys so they can get into a division with no elimination.

  • @l0ol0ool
    @l0ol0ool10 жыл бұрын

    The fact that they competed in arguably in the toughest divisions where most of the athletes (and pretty much ALL of the guys) have level 5 skills, and they still couldn't accomplish having that, is just sketchy, because they're probably going to (at most) triple the amount of males on that team. Where were all of these guys during the 2013 season? What skills do they have? I'm not trying to bash, I'm legitimately curious.

  • @l0ol0ool
    @l0ol0ool11 жыл бұрын

    Also, the "old GA" may be coming back, because they've entered the large division. Because they've entered the large division, means they most likely won't have a cutoff going into finals, like how Large Senior was at the 2013 Worlds. I actually do hope Georgia succeeds in large coed. Honestly, there are many things I like in this routine, and JP's choreography together, however his attitude sucks. JP's a brilliant choreographer, but the execution has been lacking for a while.

  • @CougarFreshman09
    @CougarFreshman0910 жыл бұрын

    All of the guys don't have to have level 5 skills for a team to be successful. And no one knows where these guys are coming from, and no one has seen the team yet, so there really shouldn't be anything bad to say about them. It's a new year

  • @l0ol0ool
    @l0ol0ool11 жыл бұрын

    Or maybe Stingrays are more desirable to the parents and athletes? Orange has won Worlds 7 times, Stingrays have won NCA too many times to count, and they also have (I think) 20+ teams. With Stingrays, you know you're getting a quality program, with GA, recently, it's questionable. Not to mention that one head coaches of GA actually called out an athlete from Stingrays on Twitter. Real mature. They don't need antics, they get athletes because they're an amazing program. Stop hating.

  • @hannaheby9634

    Looks like everyone worth having has gone to Stingrays, which is totally understandable with the quality of the Rays program, and the new John's Creek location.... GA sucks now. A HUGE step down from their '06, '07, or '10 routines!

  • @cheerkarson15
    @cheerkarson1511 жыл бұрын

    a lot of stingrays cheerleaders come to georgia because its more of a family environment. stingrays may say the win alot but they also have 3 locations and A LOT more teams georgia is a great place and this year the "old georgia" is coming back and guess what? they are hotter than ever STOP trashing georgia

  • @CougarFreshman09
    @CougarFreshman0910 жыл бұрын

    Only 1 guy didn't tumble, 1 had a full & the other 4 had doubles...and there's plenty of teams that have people with no level 5 skills, like Top Gun. And this routine doesn't reflect what Georgia will be like this year whatsoever. No one knows about any team because we haven't seen anyone. And Twisters & Georgia are going to divisions that they feel will be better for them. So how are they different scenarios? How do we know F5 didn't go medium because they feel like it'll be easier?

  • @l0ol0ool
    @l0ol0ool11 жыл бұрын

    They're no where near as good as they used to be. The were World Champions in 2010 in the Large Semi-Limited Coed division. For the past 2 years, they haven't even made it to finals.

    Part of the issue is Stingrays scamming to put GA out of business. First with their buyout of GA and who knows what antics they are up to now.

    And if that were the case how is it any different from when top gun got as many guys as possible & used the girls only for stunts in their routines? Not everyone has to perform level 5 skills for a team to be successful.

  • @CougarFreshman09
    @CougarFreshman0911 жыл бұрын

    Orange is all girl.. How would them winning worlds so many times attract guys? To my knowledge Stingrays haven't had a coed team win worlds... And that coach isn't the only one who's called out stingray athletes after some girls on orange were being rude & cocky towards aces after winning.
