Enjoy Part 7 of our 8500 kilometer off-road trip from Greece to the Caucasus in Georgia and back. At the End of Mai 2022 we loaded the 2 Yamaha Tenere 700 in a van and drove from Potsdam (Germany) 2200 kilometer to Alexandropoli in Greece, where we stored the van and started our epic motorcycle adventure. Our goal was to ride the entire TET Turkey and two new sections that has never done before. A 4500 kilometer stretch and a big challenge on loaded Tenere 700s.
Part 7 shows you the days 22 to 26 of the trip and three of the most famous mountain passes in the Caucasus:
We made our way from the Shatili region to the western Great Caucasus to Uschguli / Mestia via the Zagari Pass. In the Svaneti region we hiked to the Chaladi glacier. Afterwards we rode down to the Lesser Caucasus and crossed it on the Zekari pass, Sairme pass and Cidila pass before we made our way to the Black Sea...

Love your videos. No selfie footage, no endless blathering interrupting the scenery, just enough explanations. Basically just a great edit of the scenery and roads, well done.
Awesome Video! Looks like a real adventure. 🙂

Conditions change quickly in this area. I watched a video from some biker that rode the same area 3 weeks later and it was bone dry. Also most of the snow was alredy gone by then. Rain in the mountains is always hard but it was also the special challenge we had to deal with on this trip. Greetings, Stefan.
Super Bilder, tolle Strecken, hätten wir mit unseren BMW’s wahrscheinlich nicht machen können, viel Wasser von oben dadurch natürlich auch schwierige Verhältnisse… 😀👍

GEORGIA N1 !!!
Hey there! Great video! I'm trying to reach Georgia this year, riding 2 up from Romania to Bulgaria (Varna) and then by ferry over the Black Sea to Batumi. It's the only way i can get enough time to visit Georgia and i'm planning the trip for the month of June. I guess the landscape is the most beautiful in June with green grass and white snow caps on the mountain tops....but man it rains a lot :))). What do you think, are the roads decent for riding 2up? I mean...the road to Ushguli and Zagari Pass. Thanks and cheers!
@BurningFeetAdventures
Жыл бұрын
Hi Mate, yes the road via Zagari Pass to Ushguli is not hard. The road to Omalo/ Dartlo ist harder riding with two. Don`t forget your rain suit ;-) Ride safe. Greetings, Stefan.
Agreed, very sensible riding and planning, really enjoying videos, thank you. What did you do about cash and mobile phone (3/4g) reception in Georgia?
@BurningFeetAdventures
Жыл бұрын
Hi Simon. If you gonna travel into the "dead ends" in the Caucasus you should carry cash with you (for accomodation / gusethouses & food). There was also no phone connection (georgian Sim card) in the Tusheti region near Dartlo. If you are afraid of having an accident and no reception you should check out the SPOT. Otherwise just go with the risk as we did ;-) Greetings, Stefan.

Thanks Stefan, I’m going to camp, I love camping and have satellite emergency calls on my phone (iPhone 14!). But did you buy your cash/SIM card when you got into Georgia or beforehand? Simon
@BurningFeetAdventures
Жыл бұрын
@@simonbell1774 We bought one Sim Card for both of us on day 4 of our trip with a big data package ;-) There are resellers in nearly every bigger city. It`s cheap but like in nearly all mountain areas around the world is the reception poor. Enjoy camping as we did. But when you get totally wet on a nasty day in the high mountains than a guesthouse might become very attractive to you... Stefan.

Thank you again Stefan, I have my answers 👍🏻 I remember what it’s like to camp wet, in the rain..something to be avoided for sure, especially when it’s cold in the mountains! I rode TET from UK to Greece last year, and hope to do Greece, Turkey, Georgia this year. What are your plans in 2023? Simon

Hi mate. It was my first time in Georgia in June. So no clue if we just were unlucky with the weather or if it is always like this in June. There is no TET in Georgia. The TET ends at the Turkey-Georgia border. Next episode is in Turkey and you will see parts of the TET. Greetings from Germany...
