During a recent visit to New York City, SomeOthaShip Connect recording artist and Stones Throw / Madlib affiliate Georgia Anne Muldrow stopped by the Dubspot studios to talk about her musical upbringing and give some words of inspiration to up and coming musicians. She also brought her mom along (the talented Rickie Byars-Beckwith) and reminisces about growing up in a musical family and the day she discovered an Alesis drum machine. Muldrow is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles who recently collaborated with Otis Jackson Jr. (aka Madlib) to create her most recent album, Seeds which is out now on SomeOthaShip Connect. She's a dedicated Reason and Native Instruments user who has become known as much for production as she's known for her gorgeous voice.
