Before the game, Bobby Knight accurately predicted how this game would go, complete with back door cuts.
Giant slayers....they've been fun to watch
I wonder if Jerry Doyle ever shows his grandkids the clip starting at 7:30 when he decides (after a brief contemplation) to take the ball strong to the hoop for a layup one on one against future NBA Hall Of Famer and 2 time NBA Defensive Player Of The Year Alonzo Mourning? Of course, if he does, he naturally would also show his layup at 8:26 and a little bit of revenge vs. the big man.
Must’ve been St. Patty’s Day ‘89 with all those green shirts. Watching this on St. Patty’s Day ‘22, 1st day of March Madness.
15:27, “Down by 1 with 1 second left, the Princeton Tigers had one last chance.”
#RIP Pete Carril
4:13 Mourning could have been Teed up right there.
I am a long time hoya fan but Mourning could be a a diva when he wanted. That elbow was unnecessary.
any chance can we get full game
Jefferson should have thrown the ball to the other end of the court with one second left, instead of trying to possess it and call a time out
Great to see this again. Remember at the time thinking Mourning fouled on the last second shot. Nope. Clean block with figertips.

Clear foul. Mourning even looked back at the ref before celebrating.

That's Pete Carill for you. He never won a tournament game since the early 1980's until 1996 when Princeton upsets UCLA.

@ ry - Yeah, so we will let YOU coach Pete's guys against the Top Ten teams . . . all yours . . .
Mourning should have been tossed for throwing an elbow, had it happened, Princeton would have won.
A 45-second shot clock!?!? FOH. No wonder they were able to keep it close
