He's not on roids but he has every single thing close to it like any other fighter has , they have performance chemicals from chemists so close to them , Gsp has the best trainers , best everything and that's why Nick has pestered him for years , diaz had a better record and more fights that's why he talked shit , diaz is a nice guy like him but UFC is nasty

sooo much respect for the way he handles all of the smack talk. the way GSP carries himself and speaks is the way a true martial artist, humbly, handles the responsibility that comes along with the lifestyle of discipline, heart, and integrity

@zaidbermamet I'm kind of expecting that too. Especially since GSP is known for smashing opponents who upset him (Serra/Penn rematches). But I've never seen anyone finish Nick, never seen him tired, and he's a finisher, in a 5 round fight is very interesting. I have no predictions

I am truly excited for the gsp diaz fight. Both fighters demand a great deal of respect and have accomplished a lot within the sport of MMA. No matter the outcome it should be an interesting fight. GSP is a well spoken and modest champion and his desire to fight the best should go without saying. While Nick Diaz is often times outspoken, he is also a humble individual who only desires to fight the best and to be the best. Should be a great match up!

@BlueEyedNative90 I agree. Admittedly, I don't think either fighter is trying to get out of fighting the other. I'm sure some part of Nick still wants the fight despite his emotional loss and Georges has even gone as far to say he'd be willing to vacate his belt if it was necessary to get the match-up. As for when Rush jumped up, I didn't count that one because I suspect it was just a minor tweak (knock on wood!!!!). I figure if it was serious, it'd be all over mma headlines.

I agree, but only if Nick could manage to keep the fight standing. GSP's main strategic plan would be to get Diaz to the ground as quick as possible at the beginning of each round, then hope that he could lay and pray for the remainder of the round. This Greg Jackson camp really pisses me off.......Conduit runs from Diaz and wins and GSP would more than likely ground hump him to death, in order to get the victory. Hendricks vs Diaz would be a better fight, IMO.

  • @davcnslt
    @davcnslt12 жыл бұрын

I don't think there is any question that GSP was hurt and made the wise choice. He has a long record of defending his title and is a first class guy. Having said that, he has nott been in the ring with a fighter quite like Nick Diaz. This is going to happen, and it is going to be one of the most watched events in sports history. Gracie & Diaz are doing exactly what they should, and GSP is playing it straight, as he always does. A great event, and it is shaping up very well for all of us.

@muchohumpty btw that quote doesn't really mean anything because 1.) Deep down we ALL know, including the GSP naysayers that GSP isn't scared to fight ANYONE let alone a lesser fighter like DIaz and 2.) Diaz himself admitted later in an interview that he was only saying those dumb things to get himself another shot at GSP after he beat Penn for his 'no call, no show' at the press conference and failing to promote the initial fight.

@warLock21X well said.. and I don't think GSP plays it safe. What Clay Guida does sometimes wrestling and holding on to position like he did with Nate Diaz is playing it safe.. for the people who doubt that.. take a closer look at GSP fights and notice how he is always working to advance position and do damage at the same time.. he dose not play it safe he plays it smart.

I did some number crunching which you might find interesting; although most likely boring. Diaz wins by submisson 30% of the time to GSP's 22% and finishes by ko or tko 50% of the time compared to GSP's 40%. Granted GSP has a had much tougher opponents (depending on your stance on the quality of fighters not in the UFC). I'm not sure GSP will respect the ground game of Diaz as much as he did Shields. I haven't seen the videos of the losses to Sherk and Riggs - what kind of fights were they?

@zaidbermamet I disagree. They have different styles and they're better in different areas. Nick's boxing is better and is more dangerous on the ground. George is better at wrestling and mixing the takedowns with the striking. Will be interesting on who can use their strengths effectively when they meet.

Nick Diaz, Cheal Sonnen, many other MMA fighters are injured during training or before the fight. But they dont call the fight off 3 weeks before like 'oh I have lightly sprained my knee' (thats exactly what GSP did, and all that was wrong was his knee was strained) They train through it and train lightly do what they can do and turn up to the fight the best they can because they are fighter not scared and its their job. GSP called the fight off 3 weeks before hardly hurt and was TRAINING

GSP does what he needs to win. I think everyone would like him to go all out more but its his style, being undefeated for years and its clearly working, props to him. Also when people complain about him not being able to finish fights, neither cant his opponents finish him, yet they get no bullshit. If u get hugged in the ground for 25 mins it means u got out skilled, and u got some serious improvements to make in order to beat him. Too bad his ACL got f-d up, Diaz would have really tested him.

@imhungry4444 Just because Diaz strikes with guys doesnt mean he beats them at their own game take Diego Sanchez for example Sanchez took Diaz down constantly and won if GSP fought Sanchez he would take Sanchez down (beating him at his own game) and stop Sanchez's takedowns. I mean Diaz is good but GSP and even Condit are big steps in competition. Am I right? Or am I right?

@MmaSmarty87 , Serra beat GSP with strikes but many guys have beat Diaz with wrestling and they were not as good as GSP. GSP doesnt have to pass Nick's guard or finish him after he gets him on the ground. All he has to do is some ground n pound and stay busy enough for the ref to not stand them back up. He will get a unanimous decision just by doing that. Diaz cant submit GSP from the bottom.

I don't understand how anyone can say that GSP is ducking the new fight...according to Cesar Gracie himself Diaz snuck out a window to avoid the press conference, and then had no sensible explanation for it. GSP was then waiting with the press for Diaz to show up at the conference. So, if gsp wasn't scared then, he isn't now. Just sayin'. Oh, and i'm a Diaz fan 100%

Why is everyone saying GSP is scared of Diaz when he backed out of the Carlos Condit fight and not the Diaz fight. LOL. I don't believe Diaz or GSP is scared to fight each other but I must admit that it is a little weird that people is saying GSP is the scared one when it was Nick Diaz that dodge the press conference. I also don't believe GSP is scared of Condit but I will say GSP is one to back out of fights more easily than most fighters due to injury instead of riding out the storm.

  • @airbbll08

@GoodFellax21 i agree. gsp's control on the ground is unreal. comparably speaking, i think nick diaz can do better on the ground, whereas on the feet, i think gsp would take him to school. i can't understand when people think diaz would destroy gsp on the feet. he is only effective when his opponents let him walk them down. i wouldn't gsp is the greatest boxer of all time, but he is so much more fundamentally sound than diaz. just look at the trouble diaz had with kj noons.
