This song epitomizes why the Ladies Love George! He has a voice that makes you feel like he means it, a delivery that makes you feel like he is singing to you and a fantastic band backing it all up. Back in the eighties a music critic called him "the Sinatra of country music" . I have been in love with the man since 1980!

My grandparents went to see him maybe 10 years or so because he's my grandma's favorite artist and the story is it was like she was there alone grandpa was forgotten for the duration of the concert lol

I fell in love with George Strait when I was in high school. Still love the man. You can't go wrong with a song by this man.

George’s “Run” would blow y’alls Minds!!! And, it deserves a Studio & Live watch to really appreciate.

George is just the King. I've been loving him and the Ace in the Hole band since my college days back in the late 1970's. His band is what makes a lot of his songs. So talented.

There are a couple of songs that I think you would probably enjoy a great deal because it would hit your sense of humor. And that's George strait the fireman in George strait overnight mail. So good to see King George back. Although staying true with tradition, George did stay current with the times.

An interesting song in many ways, not the least of which is that it was King George's 60th #1 and how it got there.

George Straight is such a good singer he ruined my marriage proposal! It was the 90’s and my husband and I had been dating for years and he had gotten on offer from a certain company that offered 10 cd’s for 99 cents and he asked me if there was a cd I wanted and I wanted the new George Straight cd. Fast forward he gets the CD’s and he is on his way to meet me to propose and decides to pop in the George Straight CD to see what kind of music I like. As he is driving along a song starts…. At a table for two With candlelight and wine That diamond burnin' holes in his pockets Thinkin' now's the perfect time When he popped the question he could see The teardrops fill her eyes She said I knew this was comin', and I'm sorry But I hope you realize … You can't make a heart love somebody, You can tell it what to do But it won't listen at all You can't make a heart love somebody You can lead a heart to love But you can't make it fall. He thought I was trying to send him a message, with a CD I had never heard!! So as we walked across a parking lot to get in the same car he handed me the ring, I said ok…is there a question with this ring?? He asked, do you want there to be a question with that ring??? He had this whole romantic proposal planned out and the song had him second guessing and that was my proposal. Us walking across the parking lot and me asking “Are we engaged or what?!” Lol 28 years later it has worked out all right.

George Strait and Chris Stapleton are on my list of "artists who can't miss". They aren't flashy when performing and the talent speaks for itself.

Scotty McCreery has a song called Damn Strait which pretty much sums up what it feels like sometimes to be a longtime George Strait fan. So many great songs attached to so many memories over so many years. The only thing comparable to the vocal talent of George Strait is his ability to pick some of the best songs ever written by some of the best songwriters ever to write a song. A true troubadour. Jamey Johnson is one of those songwriters and wrote Give It Away which became one of the many hit singles for George Strait. Y'all should check out sometime the excellent live performance of that song being sung as a duet by Jamey Johnson and Lee Ann Womack from when George Strait was being honored as the Artist of the Decade. Personnaly, my most memorable memory of George Strait was when I was in Vegas for New Years Eve about ten years ago. I had stopped to have a quick drink at a bar in one of the casinos and inside there were people singing karaoke. After a couple drinks and right about the time someone started singing The Humpty Hump, and as I was getting ready to head back out down the Strip, in walks a grinning George Strait and his cowboy entourage just as cool as can be and just then the DJ announces, "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr George Strait! The King is in the building!"

Y'all gotta check out Georgia on a Fast Train by Billy Joe Shaver. The music video is great and his son was amazing on the electric guitar as well.
