Saw PNB dance this several years ago. (Saw a few times since I was working there.) Different companies, different dancers, various skill levels, etc. Still lovely work and hardworking performers. Complainers: then get a copy of the one version you can stand to watch and go somewhere else and the rest of us can enjoy this in peace. Thanks. ;)

Molto velocizzato secondo la ritmica melodica questo balletto vera miscellanea di classico e moderno che esprime naturalezza ese cutiva e personalizzazione esecutiva.A me è piaciuto molto. Superlativi.Bighin Giulio Renzo. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

My favourite ballet. I’ve seen the Australian Ballet do it twice. This performance is very unpolished.

anyone who saw the original when twyla herself was dancing,,saw a miracle every night..all of her stuff...genius...sure these dancers are a bit slow,,the carefree panache diminished...but geez,,,i thought i was too critical !! this aint chopped liver !! u can still see twylas genius at work and for me it still thrills,,,despite the fact that it doesnt hold a candle to the original company,,,

The best versions I ever saw were performed by the Miami Ballet and the American Ballet Theater

I agree in both cases. Those companies really have the synchronization down to bring this piece to the highest level. When I saw MCB do it in Chicago, the Esty twins danced were both still dancing with that company and the audience applauded every time they crossed the stage because they were so remarkably synchronized.

I wish there was a full version of this ballet! There used to be a video with the bolshoi and natalia osipova when she was still a student. It was pure perfection, I couldn't stop watching it but they took it down...it's sad really..

The Bolshoi version is under rehearsed, nothing pure perfection about it

Pacific Northwest Ballet did an excellent version several years ago. I am happy to have found it here, but this does not quite live up to my memories, these dancers look a bit uninspired and even just tired especially near the end. Still, it is a thing of beauty and the fast pace must be a challenge to keep up so not going to put them down for taking it on. Philip Glass and dance go so well together.

What a stupid thing to say. Would you say the same about an orchestra playing a symphony that's been performed before? Of course you wouldn't.

This is crap. When this piece was performed by the Tharp company, it was amazing. Now it is a museum piece performed by dancers trying to effected her style. This is a pale impiation of the original.

It's true the performance isn't as good as the original performances, but it's still mesmerisingly beautiful.

This is a mess. An example od a great ballet under-rehearsed and poorly danced.

This is boring. It's dancing by numbers. When this dance was originally performed, it was incredible.

What happened to ballet? I'm a former dancer, and every new generation seems to be more stale and boring than the one before it. The blurry 80s In The Upper Room on this site has ten times more energy and artistry than this one.
