    My friend was heavily involved with the motion capture used in Happy Feet. George Miller let him have an advanced copy to show his wife before she died. He’s a class act.

    It's insane that George Miller seems like a sweet, gentle, soft-spoken grandpa and he came up with such a bad-ass action movie like "Mad Max: Fury Road" which action directors HALF his age could only DREAM of making!

    It's so great to see Mad Max being made more popular again. So many people aren't aware of just how influential the series was. Without Mad Max, we wouldn't have Escape From New York, Fist of the North Star, Twisted Metal, Borderlands, Fallout, and so many other post apocalyptic movies/books/comics/TV shows/games.

    Im not gonna lie, I watched Fury Road without having any knowledge of the Mad Max franchise whatsoever, however, I immediately fell in love with it, the characters, the themes explored everything was so good that I had to investigate further, started watching the old films, even played the ps4 game(it was brilliant) and was surprised at how good the old films are considering how long ago they were made.

  • @Thaumtron

    @Thaumtron

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Sir Blabbermouth I'm really glad you loved it, but I have to refute you on a few points. There was storytelling, it's just not said word for word. The acting of the characters, especially if you look at the faces, show what kind of world they live in and how they are living through it. Character development was plentiful. Nux is the most obvious example, but you see Max go from a self serving feral beast to a person who care for other people. At first you think Furiosa is some tough and stoic badass, but as the ride goes on, she begins to open up and you see how soft and broken she actually is. Action is one of the best shot and edited I have ever seen in my life.

  • @blabbermouth9645

    @blabbermouth9645

    8 жыл бұрын

    I guess I could have been a little more clear. Of course there was a story, and character development, but that wasn't the main focus of the movie. You only really thought about it on your way home from the cinema. The story and char.dev, was pretty much overshadowed by the amazing visuals, downright insane action and roaring of engines, along with a badass tune.

  • @Thaumtron

    @Thaumtron

    Sir Blabbermouth Yeah I agree with that. All the people who hate on the movie are nitpicking when it comes to plot and characters, because that was not the focus of the movie.

    Why is Fury road so good, and different, and a breath of fresh air? Simple: No cliches. The lead woman isn't a princess, the car that gets stolen from the hero is never recovered, you never know what's gonna happen next, etc etc. For the rest of "action movies", five minutes into the film and can already tell you the whole story, and how it's gonna end. That's it. I have been waiting for years to be surprised by a film like this one. Surprised.

    It was a very good movie for me, though not exactly best of the decade stuff. But the goddamn atmosphere it had and maintained was incredible. Someone should screen this at a desert, I'd pay $50 to see it.

    "This is a documentary of how our life is going to be in 8 years." It's now 2020, and with how things have turned out. I wouldn't be surprised if this could become a documentary in 2024.
