I really despise the manner of how the host questioned the idea of how females in Hollywood should be represented. There’s such a strong victimization of ‘woman’ and yet the woman wants to take no responsibility in her own participation of being a victim. And then holds men like George Miller to fix the problem. There’s this assumption that there are certain entities to blame for the issues of society and must be responsible for the redemption of its people. And then projecting a very specific expectation like casting ‘strong female leads’ etc... when that is NOT going to solve the underlying issue and in fact can possibly make it worse to a certain degree. his first response, was pure. She reinstated the question, which rejected his heartfelt response to his work, which made it pretty clear the film was not trying to make a statement on the feminist movement.

Louis Hessey-Antell fury road is a revolution in human ingenuity, art, cinema, culture, story telling and 21st century technology. Its a great action Film because it breaks the tradition of what an action film is, therefor transcends the definition of itself. At this point it is the early markings of simulated reality...

WTF is wrong with these college kids? "Yes, my question is, what do you think the best medium for a movie about the Me Too movement? Would it be an animation?" They want to feel like they are making an important difference in the world so badly, they latch onto anything they can possibly find. They truly need something they believe is evil in the world to rebel against.

Yes! I agree. There is this mental state of delusion and obsession that this next generation have being completely raised on pop culture media and 21st technology. They have nothing to do but make fantasies in there head that they start to believe and then project it on others with the expectation to validate the delusion. Then if that doesn’t happen that’s when people start getting crazy and killing each other.... but in our world it’s slandering the persons credibility and good name within the society and restricting access to natural rights (food, water, shelter)

I didn't get a self-important or deluded vibe from that student at all. Maybe a bit "needing to bring up the latest news" which admittedly can be annoying. But the discussion then led to the question of how strong a medium directs a message, and what, for George Miller, is essential in storytelling. If you can't see that this is interesting, it's really a you-problem and you should start working on yourself.

Let's be honest he handled that well considering what complete clusterf*ck of a moderator she was not to mention the woman in the Audience both attempted to derail the interview by pushing their political Feminist/Metoo bullshit. Other than that Miller expounded on the mechanics of his craft brilliantly!

The interviewer had to bring up feminism. The main second lead in Fury Road after Max being Furiosa could not further from the idea of feminism. Yet so man feminists want to use her as a poster girl for them. I honestly have yet to meet a truly strong real world feminist who comes close to women like Furiosa. The real strong women who can fight and who are warriors even by their own admission from discussion I have had with them don't see themselves as feminists. You see a lot of actresses and others in education align with feminism. Yet so many of them would never pick up a weapon to fight in a war or be on the front lines. They hide behind others hard work and if they do not fully fit into their ideology, they shun them out and distance themselves from them. You got women like Gina Carano who are the real deal, yet would never line up with feminists cause she and other like her know that it took hard work to get where they are and they did not have to play the victim to get there.

Everytime this loaded feminist question comes up, I wait for the filmmaker, writer or actor to remind them that movies like Alien, Aliens, Thelma & Louise, various film noirs, 70's counterculture flicks, etc exist. You get the feeling that such interviewers' understanding of film culture goes no further back than a few years, through a murky lens of political agenda.
