In later years he spoke about 'The faith years' It was a down point but also a turning point for him... he decided that success does not mean selling your soul, running your body into the ground, or losing your sanity, and having your life under intense scrutiny. He took his life back... and said screw the industry I'm living my life and career on my terms. I have deep love and respect for this man... what other celebrity has this much genuine heart, sincerity and humility. I'm genuinly devastated by his death. 😢😢😢

Summer elrklerkt'kerokt agreed. But do some research on Elton John. Especially since he completed rehab in late 1990, and created the EJ AIDS Fdn. He has a temper at times, but a genuine heart for others. I adore both of these British men!

Incredibly sooo, the most amazing face but what a lesson for us all. The media and Tabloids portray so much visual and that's what's most important that society sees you this way thus it may determine the success you have! When I was growing up I became aware of my features and what I'd inherited. However, my childhood became very dysfunctional because of issues out of my control. I never considered myself beautiful as I grew up because of the lack of support and that nurturing. I suffered hormonal depression and sought solace in two relationships that were long lasting but ended. Finally , when I met my final partner he was enamoured by my looks but it was over time he recognised my soul. He then remarked on how beautiful I was and that I must have been aware of this. !...no I wasn't and had very little confidence! Truth is I wasn't aware because of my past. It's only now that I'm a woman in the true sense that I'm enjoying my body and appreciating that. However my heart and soul are what makes me who I am. I'm grateful and blessed for that and never take it for granted. So I understand George Michael and his struggles and why it was hard for him to reconcile with so many demons . I respect , love and still absolutely adore George Michael. His demons were just too big to overcome. I get it. I'm grateful that I'm able to cope , have happy/sad times but each time I grow and get stronger. 😇😇😇

The genuineness in his sincerity astounds me. I admire him so much. Miss him!!

What an incredible interview. The host was so prepared, therefore relaxed and the whole thing felt like a conversation between two guys in someone's living room. That's why you can hear that George also felt relaxed and was able to give thoughtful, sincere answers which gives us a real window into his personality. He was very young at the time, of course, but it seems like after seeing the Freedom documentary he remained true to that genuine, authentic goodness that he displays here. He was very smart, articulate and humble for someone so young. I was most impressed by his ability to recognize the magic that actually transpires between audience and rock star on stage. I will always love him and miss him. dear George. ❤️

Roberta Colarette Yes, you’re right, I found it really interesting at the end when George said about the energy that goes between a performer and the audience. It reminded me of a similar comment Elvis made, where he described it as “electricity” going between the crowd and the stage. I should think it’s something only the greatest performers get to experience.

When I think of George, I remember Brian May’s lyric for Freddie: ‘a soul painted like butterfly wings.’ It’s just tragic and heartbreaking that the world lost both these extraordinary young men way too soon. They were such a gift ... still so hard to accept they’re really gone.

Cant compare Freddie to wonderful caring George, George has given millions to charity, he was a lovely man, i dont feel the same way about Freddie.

Every time I hear George talk it's like a window down into his soul. George, always spoke as if he was just talking to you. His words were not planned out. He just answers questions, & says what he says & means what he means. George has no need to fluff up his ego. George says things as a matter of fact. He doesn't like all fake, & no integrity. He was too honest & down to earth. Look rite after the Faith album, Freedom 90' He burnt the jacket, blew up the jukebox Why, Because he couldn't be fake. It wasn't the person he was & couldn't bear what this meant, even if It meant a lot of money, No Way!, Not George! That's real character! A real Man!

I love George so very much I will finish this comment at a later date; to lose him on Christmas Day ; I could not get out of bed ; turned off all music and TV; I kept saying in my head and heart this cannot be true ; and I am a straight woman , Just to add at this time ; He was a Genius and as far as being from the US ; we really loved this man regardless if he as gay or not ; was not the part that breaks your heart it was his gentleness; his kindness; his Respect for other but most and foremost ; we that loved him ; but outspoken about the US ; he hit the United States right on the head of the nail . Pamela Curtis I agree 100%! I didn't have time to get on social media or watch much TV on Christmas. I'm almost glad I didn't. I found out the next morning. Had I found out on Christmas, my day would have been heavily impacted as yours was. I literally feel as if I'm grieving for someone I knew personally. I don't think he knew how heavily and personally he and his music impacted the lives of his fans. I think so many ppl linked his music to either extremely happy times in their lives or his voice helping them through hard more difficult times. I love him and miss him so! Yes we love him in the U.S! This still seems unreal!

I did find out on Christmas, and it was very devastating. However, I didn't find out until later in the day, so that helped. His loss has affected me so deeply, it has been difficult for me to function. George was always such a deep soul, and to not have him a part of this Earth, feels so empty.

AtlantisIndigo omg, those were the words I've been trying to equate to my feelings...."not having him a part of this earth , feels empty." There is absolutely a sense of emptiness without him. Just knowing that his possibilities cease to exist is hurtful. The possibility for him to feel complete, accepted, pain-free while alive, possibility to record again, for us to hear him sing, speak, tour, connect with his fans, touch the lives of others,,, all gone, and it's a lot to take in!

He was so incredibly smart! I mean he was probably 25 or 26 years old at the time and the issues that he duscusses in such depth...it's mind blowing!

I have followed him since Wham. He is a BEAUTIFUL man with a BEAUTIFUL soul! I wake up with him singing wake me up before you go go I go to sleep at night with his music in my ears. He soothes my soul! He makes my day bareable!

What a sexy voice, RIP George Michael.. I love you forever!!!!

Tracy you don't need to tell me George was a kind soul. However Carolyn is one of those who denies where his life went wrong and that he suffered greatly. Her sensational worship comment doesn't do his memory favours because of his documented troubles and his reaction to them. My 1st comment was to get ppl to think how he changed because he was influenced by unfavourable types. That negative influence likely contributed to his early passing. I'm not sure he remained his own man I think people exploited him hence his behaviour. I appreciate GM enormously but I don't worship his take on everything because it wasn't always right. I am sorry he wasn't treated better by people around him.

The world lost a lot when George's light was extinguished.

Whoever is interviewing him got a very good interview from George. I really enjoyed it, George is very interesting to listen to on this.

No apology necessary Margie, just happened to hear pretty quickly that it wasn't Kurt Loder. (Very distinctive voice.) I didn't listen a second time, but it could certainly be Chris Conley. I always liked Chris's interviews! Either way, still wishing George were still here.

More than two years later I still can't believe he's gone. The only thing that makes me going on is that I I was lucky enough to have seen him 3 times 3 remembering that he smiled at me, maybe 3 beautiful seconds of my life SACRÉ GEORGE rip

I could listen to him all day ! such an amazing man !!! I never thought you would leave us so suddenly George ! very very sad. I have not yet accepted his death and keep listening to his music non-stop, it keeps him alive. RIP George. I will always love you.

I think the saddest thing about his death is that he didn't have a child. He was an only son and there is no one to carry on his name. I can see why he didn't have a child because he must have felt he couldn't give them the stable environment he had growing up, but in spite of that, he would have made a great dad, kind and patient.

I think this is the most insightful interview I’ve ever heard Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou give. Like so many I loved the music of George Michael and will be forever intrigued to find out more about the man himself. This interview reveals a lot about him at the time he was working on his Faith project

Great interview the host really touched on George's social conscious, personnel thoughts, musical take and how he moves through his life and his career. He is so well spoken, intelligent, it shows the man was more then just a money machine. I can't get enough of his voice but most of all listening to someone of his level of success having meaningful conversation and yes you were not a brain dead air head. He put everything out there for discussion. But I always respected his right to feel his personal life should have been private and not for public consumption especially his sex life. RIP✝️

Such an amazing interview! And the interviewer sounds like John Norris. He interviewed George for "Faith," "LWP", "Older" and "Patience." George seemed to really enjoyed talking with him. George even inquired about John on his Twitter account before he passed. I so enjoyed the interviews in which the interviewers were curious about him as an artist. George did some amazing interviews with BBC's Kristy Young. I truly hope that he is resting in peace. He is truly missed.

Wow !!! I enjoyed this interview. GM's words are full of substance. I tried to understand every sentence he said in order for me to understand how his magic on music works, his feelings abt things, his views abt his surroundings etc. What a talented and down to earth person. I'm an avid fan from Philippines , but due to absence of cable and networking, I knew little abt him. I'm so thankful for all the uploads abt him. Though he's gone, I still get to know him more ..... and love him more and more. What a beautiful soul , not afraid to share his thought abt things. My only regret? I wish I had seen any one of your concerts. One thing sure though, I'm gonna buy your records/videos if I cud find some. Thanks once agn for sharing this wonderful interview. God bless you.

HEARTBROKEN... I had to revisit mill cottage.. 3 weeks later so many tributes have had to be moved to the side of the cottage.. beautiful scenery on a slight hill that leads to the river, goring-on-thames lock on one side, on the other side leads to george's cottage.. so tranquil.. but many more mourners still pouring in, leaving more at front of cottage.. i must say, i had this feeling/occurrence happen to me again on my 2nd visit... darkness was falling, candles alight, in my own world bent down reading, taking photo's of tributes... was so peaceful and no one else was around.... to my right side i felt a presence/energy of somebody.. as i hesitated, i turned around looked up, no-one.was.there.. eerily pleasant but wasn't spooked... just thought i'd share as i know many of you out there know that feeling of spiritual... may you find inner peace George.. R.I.P

He was so articulate and intelligent. Love hearing him speak.

This is what happens when you have an interviewer that’s done his homework, and not just a fan of who they’re interviewing. You can tell that George is very aware of that and he’s at ease. What captivated me the most is his brief explanation of his song writing process. Now we know how he came up with such well crafted Pop songs.💯💯🎤🎼

I've always loved a variety of music...lyrics, melodies, all of it. I want music on before TV. But since losing George, any song I listen to other than his is missing something. I listen to very little else because of that. He had SUCH a way and as he said about listening to a song in his dad's restaurant knowing he'd have written a portion this way instead of that.....I hear something and wonder what would George have done differently, better. Lyrics seem so made up or meaningless, not like his that spoke volumes! Even in early WHAM interviews he had such DEPTH! Watching TV is hard for me now too. Like ANYONE who is British, any man wearing an earring, any storyline that includes a gay man... A crime show the other day had a male victim who died in bed and all I could do was think of George!! I often just end up back here re-watching, listening, wondering why him..... It'd probably be way too hard for them but I still wonder if his family ever gets on and sees just HOW hugely loved he still is??

I'm a lifelong dedicated Christian and I loved George. He had his demons like all of us, but the quality of his product could not be argued. I could listen to him speak and sing every day for the rest of my life.

I totally agree with so many of the comments here. Mostly the comment on George Michael and Freddie Mercury. George Michael sings at Freddies farewell concert and literally sounded identical to him. Most definetly gone beore there time and such extraordinary men. Gorgeous Men. Ive always loved gay men.Im a straight female which doesn't make any difference but I just love their view and intelligence and talent. My best friend was gay and I had more fun witih him than anyone in my life. He was my best friend. But these two I'll never forget in my lifetime. We love you both and will never forget thank you for the beautiful music and the wonderful things you did for humanity while you were here and beyond.

His stardom decreased after the 80s though and as to his voice changing. Smoking cannabis

I loved that last comment, he was on to something that is unexplainable within our current mindset. The exchange of energy he felt must have been incredible and it sustained him. Perhaps i can still feel him, too, at least i hope.

it was so sad seeing George being so swollen that was from heart but he was taken from us but he is resting he. with mom special and he shared his self with us so my George be in the Lord hands and no more suffering

He has come long way since Wham as a successful solo artist I like Jesus to a child and spinning the wheel he has that whispery sort of voice his own unique voice. he was at nearly every TV interviews charity events and how he kept it quite about the millions he gave to various charities he is going to be missed by millions around the world he lives on through his music and films I see him up there in heaven singing with the angels Elvis Presley Freddie Mercury David Bowie Whitney Houston who I also cried over because she had such a fantastic voice. Just sad that another has to go it would of been nice if one of them could of been saved never stop missing them xxxxxxxxx

George fell into the unique category of a super mega star who was NOT weird and was extremely LIKEABLE no less so honest! He remained that way his whole life. Sadly everything he was turned out to be why we lost him. I mean seriously who can withstand decades of everyone wanting to be like you, around you, physically with you or worse having an agenda by knowing you... you struggle with two personas and then where's your solace and truth of anyone? That's why he needed the drugs and alcohol to escape and calm down. I love that he said the two things that made him happiest were sex and music because after his "outing" he would say the same thing only adding TV as the third thing! Gotta love this guy!! We do love you George, we miss you and we will never forget you for so many things you contributed to this world!!❤❤ I know you are finally resting in the peace you always deserved.

+beeJ, I want to clarify that NOTHING I have posted on this video site or any other has been an “excuse” for George Michael’s life and/or behavior, as some have suggested. I love him as a whole, for what he did/did not do and what he was/was not, for his accomplishments/achievements as well as his flaws/imperfections. Each of us has our own perception of him, as we are individuals who see and feel things in our own unique way. For me, George Michael was a beautiful man inside and out, an intellectual and musical genius with a heart of gold and full of compassion. Certainly, he had his vices as well as virtues, just as we all do. We are humans and none of us is perfect. I love George for ALL that he was and gave, especially his achievements in the musical world, his honesty, his beauty, his generosity, and his humbleness. AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, I forgive him for his faults, something I believe he sadly could never do himself. While he is gone physically, he and his beautiful music will forever remain in my heart and soul.

🤭🤯😎🌞🤓💫💥✨!!! OMG! Favorite (audio) interview EVER!!!!!!! My mind is simply blown to bits with this Most Revealing "purest", most honest?? GM interview. Jeez- to catch George during the Kathy years, pre-DRUGS, joking casually about what his future would be like in "25", much less- 5 years!! .... answering honestly about fans interrupting his meal 50 times. And contrasting this with his answers (putting the total kibosh later on with interviewers about not breathing in the fumes playing live to stadiums of people- oh, that's not real...you can't 'soak that stuff up'....wink, wink..". My god- the interviewer was asking great questions, sure, but for some reason, he put G so at ease,....I mean did he ever, EVER give such an honest interview again??? No need to recap the whole thing here, but let's just say I was so riveted I was in danger of holding off peeing, AND the battery was on empty thru half the interview. Praying 🙏 😁 desperately to hold on till the last question.😂. OMG..that interviewer was squeezing every last drop outta George. And G kept artfully dodging the tricky parts 😉😊...

This interview accurately reflects the egoism, the self-centeredness, the need to make money fast, the frantic race to abundant wealth put forward by the yuppies of the 80s. Thank God, as he got older, George realized that there were also those left behind, and he understood that it wasn't enough to want something in order to be able to do it. I'm thinking of the disabled, of people who are made redundant and dehumanized. He came to understand all this, and that's why he ended up reaching out to others through his secret charities.

I, too have been listening to every interview that I can find on GM. I had no idea how tuned into politics, and his views on such a variety of subjects. He is very, very interesting to listen to--and he has complex ideas and thoughts and reasonable understanding about people in general. I am an American, I too, get tired of our government thinking it needs to impose it's ideals and culture on every nation on earth. One thing, I have come to appreciate the information about how record companies are worse than sharks! I consider my life in comparison to MG as the road not musically traveled. I am six months older than GM and had the same arguments with my parents about music, was writing my own songs, and lyrics, and writing folk songs, and story songs. Entering contests, placing 3rd, 7th and 11th, and 3rd, 5th and 7th place and so forth but only 1st place got the free trip to Nashville or LA. So--I just missed it every time. Even being in the local Wrangler Star Search when I was 19! Singing and playing guitar--my sister 14 as my singing partner. We were into power harmony. Finally my Dad pushed me into local college to go into the Medical Field. My singing was regulated to writing and singing gospel songs for church. I played flute/guitar for church, and the songs in my head and arrangements in my head almost drove me nuts. NOW I am 59--and have had to accept, I traveled a different road, one in which my disabled brothers and sister really needed me full time. So that when I became disabled by a serious rubber latex allergy and lost my job, became uninsurable for being on the job at age 38, it was God's plan so that I would have an income, and be able to use my college education and training, and job experiences to help others and my family as an advocate. I find satisfaction in this. I love music! I enjoy listening to GM's music--and joy other types of music too, but feel a kinship to GM because of the age I am, the similarities in my life, and personality type, the biggest difference is I am straight, and a Christian. I have a wonderful church I belong to, that I love all the people who are members, and together we help many people who are poor, hungry, and need help. So, I am glad to always hear of GM's charities and giving to help others. Thanks for posting the interviews. I do enjoy them very much! Especially now that I am bedridden 85 percent of the time. If George had been a child star like Michael Jackson all I can say is Wow.....and maybe he could handle better than being a teenage star because he knows so much about what he wanted to do as child but had no one to help get him where he was now...

No it's good he wasn't a child star. It was good he was able to have a normal childhood. The longer you have to live a normal life, I think it gives you a better sense of reality and able you to handle the business at hand.

I too am watching all of GM's interviews - I cannot help but feel the need to understand why he chose to leave.

yeah you´re right George, your ART speaks for itself but YOU also had a lot to say, OUTSIDE your ART. You are very, very articulate. No fool. Who cares who you liked to sleep with? Such a whole bunch of shit media!!!!!!! RIP Now you are in peace, I'm sure.
