"Careless Whisper" was earlier when he was with Wham. This is the title track of George's first solo album, Faith. Other songs from this album are "I Want Your Sex" and "Father Figure".

This song/album hit like an atomic bomb when it was released. Was HUGE! Took George Michael's career to near Michael Jackson/Elvis-levels. Seriously. People forget. I haven't.

I remember this when it came out.. im old, but even I was still at school lol My sister is the biggest George fan...she's still devastated he's gone.. RIP George 🙏

I worked in an audio-video store in '87-88 and I played this album pretty much daily. It's as good now as it was then.

The music video for this is really fun. It shows George's sense of humor.

Asia, this is the album I brought up in live R&B. It beat out MJ for record of the year, R&B. Created a huuuuge fuss over a white man winning in R&B. One More Try was the song I requested. It's either that one or Father Figure you're thinking of. Possibly I Want Your Sex but for some reason that one didn't hold in memory as well as the others although it was the first release. Careless Whisper is a solo from him but it was released on a Wham! album, Make It Big. You cannot go wrong with him. His vocals, lyricism are second to none. Here are my picks, just ignore any you've done: A Different Corner(my personal fave song, ever, by any artist) Jesus To A Child (written about his partner that died from AIDS related complications, his entire album, Older, is dedicated to him) One More Try Fast Love (If possible watch video, it's amazing) Freedom 90 (Video is STUNNING) Monkey Spinning The Wheel, great jazzy number Somebody To Love (from the Freddie Mercury tribute concert. He KILLED it. ) Outside (Personally love this one just for the sheer balls shown by making a song about his own arrest) White Light (Which to be honest, since his death, breaks my heart every single time, as does Last Christmas) Waiting For That Day Older Praying For Time ...ummm, basically his entire catalogue. It was from his “Faith” album which won the Grammy n so many other awards. Kissin a Fool n Hand to Mouth my fav tracks from this album. There are many great artists out there But they always looking for that great song , that great instrumentation, that great writing. Not George. He wrote, sang, produced and did most of the instruments on all his tracks. And did it HIS way. The man was a genius and a good, beautiful man inside n out. Gave so much $$$$ away Gone too soon. His duets are also perfection. Aretha, Whitney, Beyoncé, Smokey, Stevie, Queen, Elton, etc. my fav will always be “As” with Mary J Blige n “Blame it on the Son” with Ray Charles.

What a talent he was. You definitely have to do Freedom 90. It's his response to this. The videos make all the difference and help tell the story. So if you can't watch them as your reaction, just watch them for yourself.

Hello, This album hit the billboard charts for 10 or 11 weeks straight in the US! The funny thing is George didn't think this album was that great. (his words) All the songs on this album are great, but wait till you hear the next 30+ years! For many of us, George has held a monumental place in our lives & hearts. Not just for the magnificent music, You absolutely will be blown away by but his heart is priceless! I hope you choose to continue your journey through George's life. It's all in the music, at least the seasons of his life. Then If you want to continue on to know the man behind the music, I hope he touches your hearts with his honest & pure love. George for me is my Little Piece of Heaven. I'm so happy to have George be a part of my life, (I know that may sound crazy) However, George has been a constant in my day-to-day life. The music video for "I Want Your Sex" is actually the opening of the Official Music Video for THIS song "Faith".... "I Want Your Sex" is a great and VERY catchy song, but sadly, most people don't know the inspiration behind it. It was written by George at the height of the AIDS/HIV epidemic in the late 80's (In case u didn't know, George was gay). Even though the lyrics are spicy.... the song is actually about being in monogamous relationships. The end of that video George actually writes the word Monogamy (on a girl's body! lol!!). Anyway, great reaction and check out George's song "I Want Your Sex".... I think that's the song you were thinking of. Peace and light... SIDE NOTE: George was some real eye candy in the video for this song "Faith". You should check it out sometime.... even if it's just on your own time! lol!! The thing with GM, you have to see the music videos. I know there are blocking issues, but do yourselves a favor and check them out after you’ve listened to the songs. They really do define the 1980’s, music and MTV were a package deal. 😁❤️
