This song was the spark that ignited Disco Mania. The best of times!. Had to be experienced to be truly appreciated.
I firmly believe that the best music decade of all time was the 70's.... eventhough i hadn't even been born though cuz i'm just a kid in his 30's but i wish i had lived during that time :(
Its sometimes a sad and melancholy feeling to admit to yourself the magic of that era is gone forever. I am thankful to have been there in person. All we can do now is Rock Your Baby and make her feel that warmth and passion.

Well I'm with you too.....after 2000 music died on its backside. Now I actually pity anyone listening to the drivel that's put out now because nothing can compare to the glory days we grew up with. So much choice so many types and something for everyone young old and inbetween. This is solid gold just effortlessly sung and what a range! Brilliant musicianship!
Great memories of those times and this tune. Wherever and whenever it played hips were shaking! George had a great Disco hit in 1979 called "Don't You Feel My Love" that was playing the night I met my future wife. We're married 43 years this year and still dancing. Thanks George!
Wow old times remember. This like yesterday
It actually hurts listening to this, if only we could turn the clock back, life was so much sweeter. Sure.... Vietnam, OPEC, fuel crisis, three day week, all that.... but people weren't fat and angry. Music was sweet, and we were happy with what we had.

What a privilege to be part of an awesome musical era-Shadow
George McCrae, a great artist with a great voice ! He is still one of my favourite artists. Listening to this song brings back the nostalgic memories of my childhood, i was 14-15 years when i heard it first & still one of my best! It was known that Abba's much popular song 'Dancing queen' was inspired by this song. This is the single version which is more common in use, but you must listen to the splendid original album version which is rare and is about 6 minutes long ! To my knowledge it was available in his debut album and on one initial greatest hits compilation album only. That album version contains a nice, long musical interlude after the above 3 minutes which was picked up again by his beautiful, soulful, soaring voice with his usual high notes. Try to get it. In my humble opinion, his first two albums were the best - "Rock your baby" (1974) & "George McCrae" (1975), so please try to buy them and listen. Both albums available on CD now. From 'CD Collectibles' - (2 LP on 1 CD).
Listening to this on the radio in the summer of 74 was magical!🎉

Surely one of the best pop records of all time, from the magical incomparable early 70s. And now all these years later, it's a nice gentle beat and rhythm for dancing modern jive/ceroc to. If only the DJs would stop being averse to 70s music and play it!😁😊

Alot of Young Folks are discovering this type of music and they love it. They had no idea that you weren't always discovered on KZread or a Talent Reality Show.
