    blppt normally yes, but in this case shouldn’t matter since it’s triggered

  • @blppt

    @blppt

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@rustinpeace-tt8gx That would actually make it sound less precise to me (if using double bass blasts)---triggers tend to expose inexact timing, and most double bass blasts I hear the drummer can't quite get the timing of a really good single-foot blaster. I agree that the second bass drum not being 'perfectly tune matched' with the first bass drum would be eradicated by triggers, but not the timing.

  • @rustinpeace-tt8gx

    @@blppt what I meant was normally your comment is right about using single foot being a lot more precise but since George is using triggers it doesn’t matter because whether you’re using single kick or both, it will produce the same sample at the same velocity

  • @blppt

    @blppt

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@rustinpeace-tt8gx Agreed, however, if he isn't kicking with perfect timing on both hits, it isn't going to sound as 'exact' as doing both hits on a single kick pedal. I think its pretty difficult to have both legs do in the kind of unison what one leg would normally do.

    If that claim is based on his work with nile, then that's just stupid. Yes obviously this takes a lot skill, but it's based pretty much 90% on stamina and speed. Every single nile song i've ever heard, uses the fucking patterns. There are SO MANY drummers who can play circles around this guy. If all you want as a metal drummer is speed and double bass, then yes. he's your god, but if it's versatility, creativity, groove, imagination, etc. then this guy doesn't have it at all. In the end, all he does is play basic-intermediate things but do it so fast, that ignorant people think he does some magic tricks. Nothing against him personally, but saying he's ''THE BEST EVA cuz dubbel bass'', is just terrible and so off.

Would you be more specific on, why you consider him ''one of the best drummers in the world''. You didn't even say best METAL drummer(which is highly arguable). You said best of any genre, which is mind baffling for me, and i smell ignorance and lack of common knowledge on the matter. I saw Fleshgod live last month, when they came to India. Paoli was ill, and was on an empty stomach, though he fought through it. He fainted towards the end, but he came back to play the last song. Sorry for the long comment, but in my opinion, Kollias>Paoli
