Well, I'm 47 Russian. And I do know, remember (well - have some rememberance of, at least) all these songs and singers mentioned. And I do know that my daughter knows the music, singers and melodies too. Thus - music will never die, I hope so, at least. BTW - thanks to hpr.org for broadcasting not limited to counttry borders.

No one else could have sung this song with so much emotion and tenderness. When he said "hello darlin''" and sang "I saw the light," it was magical.

I don't think any of these girls singers coming up now can sing, IF you have to get on the stage half naked to hold they're attention, your not a good singer and the majority have to dance , Theres nothing wrong with dancing or wearing clothes that show almost everthing to get attention if that's what you like, BUT you shouldn't have to do that on the stage to keep they're attention..Also I don't understand half the words they're singing. They repeat the same line over, and over, They're not telling stories ,like George and the other guys back then.. Just a couple of them do..But most of them are fast songs so they can dance on the stage., Just miss all the old singers when I was young.. Like George said, whose gonna fill they're shoes, including George's. now . SAD ALMOST ALL ARE GONE.

Man I miss the old ones. My dad loved them. George Jones was his favorite. This is a great song. Such memories. Wonderful memories. This is an iconic song.

I miss hearing your voice Mr.Jones coming from my Grandpa’s radio, standing beside him as we drove home down the dirt road. I miss those days and I miss my Grandpa and Mr.Jones.What an era that was! I am 44 years old now and the past 40 years have flown by! It is a strange reality when you realize that you have lived over half your life already. I read that his wife said that the day he died he had not been talking at all for a while and they knew he’s time was almost up. He suddenly opened his eyes and smiled and and said “ Hi, I’ve been waiting for you. I’m George Jones..”. Then he closed his eyes and went to Heaven. I hope I get to meet him when I get there.

It’s like George could read the future, because country music really did go to hell. Artists now days haven’t a clue, George forgot more than they will ever learn. GOAT
