I needed this laugh. My grandmother passed away at 93 on Monday morning. I was by her side at least as she left us. My world is turned upside down, she's been my life since I was 17 months old. Not sure what I'm going to do! I miss her.

I know someone who keeps an open phone line with his friend every day. Sometimes I hear the other person clear his throat, & this guy will take the phone out of his pocket & go "Did you say something? " The other guy says "no". Phone goes back in his pocket. JUST HANG UP UNTIL YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!

I used to do that with one of my co-workers when we were forced to work from home during Covid-19. Just kept a line open whilst tapping away on our computers and kept speaking occasionally like we were in office. Before that most men seem to avoid phone calls. As a British guy calls were usually. "...Pub? Yep? Cool. See you there. bye"

God, I miss George. If you get the chance, you should read his books as well. I'm probably 10 hours south of your border (well, south of Quebec which half counts), and we had a Tim Horton's in this one horse stupid town. I swear, the greatest tragedy this town has ever faced was some moron driving their car into the side of it, and it closed down for repairs and never reopened. Much love from the States, you filthy Canucks. Cheers!
