LYRICS:
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.
Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure-
The saints’ and angels’ song.
When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call,
God’s love so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race-
The saints’ and angels’ song. [Refrain]
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

    Christian music these days seems to have a void......an emptiness.....without the Holiness and Presence of God in it. These "old timers" were saturated in God's Glory and had The Holy Spirit emanating off from them. Jesus, may we all be more like You and LESS like the World.

    Pfah, that’s quite something to say! Quite the strong judgement, don’t you think? I think Christians nowadays are also trying to try their best to seek God through their songs. Might just not be what you’re used to.

    I believe Mr. Shea was 102-103 years old, and singing anointed acapela on pitch to the Glory God! What an inspiration!

    This is the man who with the Billy Graham Hour popularized music and especially bass singers. He had this power here at 100+ years of age, so I'm certain he had a blessed gift and a life he loved. He and JD are battling it out in front of the angels now . ...

    I was at Anderson College in 1956-58, about the time I got to hear lots of concerts at the old gym/auditorium, sang by Bill, Danny and their sister. Also, in 1963 I was able to do something good for George Beverly Shea - I renewed his passport by mail. Wish I could have met him personally.

I was blessed to have had parents and a school system that lifted God up to us children. We had order and manners in school and it made it easier to learn. It is sure a different world we live in today. May God always be glorified in all things...

    That's how it is suppose to be. As the time wains to an end, the earth will be groping in darkness and gross darkness will be upon the people. Is. 60:2 In this last age.... Laodicean, the people are just exactly as it is written. Rev. 3: 14-22, They are counciled to do well and an invitation is given to open the door..... notice, it's the only age where Christ was on the outside of His own church..... Although there seems to be a church on every street corner, there is only a form of godliness but the power of God is denied. 2 Tim. 3:5,,,, However,,,, We who see have a promise and that promise is ....In the evening time, there shall be light! Zech. 14:7 My question.... Out of all those street corner churches who practically all preach the same thing..... What is the Light?
