Great content but as an Afghan born in Iran and grown up in Afghanistan I can 100% say that Persian, Dari and Tajik are just different dialekts of the same language. Not different languages!!!!!
@michaelbar859
2 жыл бұрын
As an Iranian-Tajik mix I totally agree. I can understand all three dialects. Maybe 90% is fully understandable. Its more like a heavy accent or dialect
@mdjd.8893
2 жыл бұрын
Can confirm. Tajik and Persian are 80% similar. just dialects.
@Mr.Nichan
2 жыл бұрын
Question: Is the name people call the language actually about the dialect used or not? I know most "Tajiks" in Afghanistan speak Persian* natively,** and Wikipedia says they are the main speakers of "Dari" in Afghanistan, but do people actually distinguish between whether they speak "Dari", "Tajik", or "Farsi", or just always call it "Dari" in Afghanistan? (Or maybe it's called "Tajik" when "Tajiks" speak it and "Dari" when non-Tajiks speak it?) *I use the term "Persian" to refer to Farsi, Dari, and Tajik collectively. I think that's common, but I'm not sure. **as do some non-Tajiks, and others speak it as a second/third/fourth language
@michaelbar859
2 жыл бұрын
@@Mr.Nichan well in the beginning all three were called Farsi, but when UK and Russia started colonizing Persian territories (Tajikistan and Afghanistan) they wanted to break the unity between the people of Iran (aka Persia) and their countrymen who now were under russian and british rule. That's when they came up with names such as Dari and Tajiki. Tajiki literally means Farsi in the turkic languages of the region. However, over the years their accents became distinguishable and now they became dialects due to their loan words from Russina in Tajiki, English in Dari and more French in Farsi, it is obvious when someone speak Dari compared to Tajiki or Farsi. However if we start speaking formal Farsi they are 99% understandable. Thats why when the politicians meet they all speak formal Farsi. Iran though is very different cause someone can speak Farsi but others could not understand because there are a lot of different accents and dialects in the country itself. Kurdish comes from Old Persian but the languages have changed so much that we can't understand one another, we could tell you what they are talking about since they use same old persian words but we can't understand fully.

I'm from Kazakhstan and yeah I def expected Uzbekistan being the best bro for Tajiks, Turco-Persian culture thrived in Central Asia both before and after Mongol invasions and only Russian colonialism managed to shatter it but even considering that, centuries of shared history and culture intertwining cannot be cut off that easily. Hafez was from shiraz which is in Iran. But, still Persian🔥🇮🇷🇹🇯🇦🇫
You forgot to mention one interesting fact in the borders section. A narrow strip of Afghanistan (around 15 km) seperates Tajikistan from Pakistan. This was due to the colonial border where the UK and Russia not wanting to share a border in the 1800s decided that a narrow strip of land should be given to Afghanistan as a buffer zone to ensure they don't risk any border incidents. You could have mentioned this to again emphasize how Tajikistan is the connecting point between South, Central and East Asia :)

You can go and check Ahmad masoud's Instagram, it's 80% Iranians expressing sympathy for Afghanistan and hating on Taliban. This video had the best participation of someone from the country! 👏👏👏
thank you for your kind words, I am a Tajik from Tajikistan, on behalf of a Tajik guy, hello to all the ruins of the world😊🇭🇺
I think you made a little mistake at 9:18, you said Afghanistan when you probably meant Tajikistan.

I went to an expo on Tadjikistan and one of my friend's mother was an archeologist who worked there. The amount of wonder the climate, the rock and the culture was able to keep is insane. They are probably some of my favorite antique art of all time, I love the copper bulls and goats.
I showed this video to my Tajik-Pakistani family and when we got to the part of elders having gold teeth at 21:39, all of us bursted into laughter as that is true for my elderly Tajik father. I had been waiting a long time for this video and so, thank you very much for the efforts of all involved. I truly appreciate it.
A lot of common things between India and Tajikistan! Love 💗 from India
