Forgot to mention, they prefer to be called DPRK, not "North Korea" so if you ever meet one of them (somehow) remember the title. Oh and also I'm about to go on a plane to Montreal for the first Geograbee. Keep up with us on Social media to see how it goes down and who wins!

It is not a "sad" thing in reality, it is something normal, I also speak Spanish and that difference is what gives richness to our language, for example it would be boring if everyone in Latin America spoke like in Spain, besides that is almost impossible because languages always end up creating new words from the situations their speakers experience

The division of Korea in many ways is similar to the division of Germany from 1949-1990. For example neither of them referred to each other in terms of their compass direction (they didn't refer to each other as East or West Germany, instead, being either the Federal Republic of Germany, Bundesrepublik Deutschland, or the German Democratic Republic, Deutsche Demokratische Republik)

3:35 ~ 3:40 the reason isn’t that simple. If timezones are applyed correctly to each country, 12 o’clock should be the time when the sunlight perpendiculary meets the surface area your country is on. To put it easier, at 12 PM the sun should be directly above your head. For political & historical reasons, South Korea(seoul) follows Japan(tokyo)’s timezone. But as you can see on the map, seoul is further west to tokyo. Because of that, the sun doesn’t meet the land perpendiculary at 12 in seoul. It actually does at 12:30PM. So South Korea uses a timezone that is 30 minutes earlier than what is should be. North korea is actually using a ‘correct’ timezone. P.S (edit) - north korea now uses the same timezone as south korea

Landed in Wonsan and took a scenic tour all the way up to the Chosin Reservoir where he met the locals along with 100,000 Chinese that were also visiting the area. I don't think he would've recommended DPRK, but he always spoke highly of South Korea and the people he "worked" with from there! Thanks for another fun episode Barbs!

I know some words in Korean so i tried to make them correct my pronunciation and at that point it seem I finally gain their trust, but then one of them commented that Colombia fought for the South Korean side during the Korean War and well.. that was it :S
