Man, I liked the video, it’s a bit more Alien Autopsy than usual. Dude, that huge huge bottle of Espinaler sauce and the $27 can of smoked Geoduck is making me wonder whether you are chasing the dragon and slipping into a place that may be hard to come back from. Odd chopsticks and a safety bowl, I know the signs.

You inspired my friend and me to do a Sardine Tasting night. I picked up 5 cans of different sardines and a bottle of red wine: Portuguese, in Tomato sauce with Chilli Pepper Portuguese, Smoked Skinless and boneless in Olive Oil Irresistible, In Soy Oil Adriatic Queen, In Olive Oil Club Des Millionnaires, Smoked in Olive Oil Before seeing your videos we had 0 interest in sardines. We found your video kinda gross but incredibly fun and interesting! haha Our tasting was definitely way better than expected! I really enjoyed the Club Des Millionnaires, Smoked in Olive Oil. Something about pretending to be a whale and snaking on some delicious finishes makes for a really good time. Thank you for the quality content!!!

Growing up on a small island on Puget Sound, Geoduck is very near and dear to my heart. So many wonderful memories going head first into a hole trying to get one (they run from you). You only need one for a wonderful chowder.
Matt, the Geoduck you are eating the white Siphon, it is that long thing that is outside the shell of the Geoduck. I had a friend who went hunting for them on the beaches of Puget Sound in Washington State. they taste 1,000 times better fresh than caned.
This review had me at the edge of my seat.

Well, it's so crazy, but poor Paco really did leave us a couple weeks ago. He was a pretty good boy. Taking care of him and actually being pretty bummed about the whole thing slowed down my video output the last couple weeks. Trying to think of a nice little way to commemorate him, as some people may have become familiar with him in his video appearances over the last few years.

I enjoyed watching you eat and review the geoduck since I don't eat shellfish. It was nice of you to be the sacrificial lamb. You got to try the sauce. It seems good on any fish. Oddly, I don't like it on any of the other things I might put hot sauce on. Espinaler is not a hot sauce, really, but you can't help but try it on eggs, etc.
Interesting end to the video!

you should try some korean canned top shells (골뱅이). i think they might taste and feel similar. although, they are not typically eaten straight out of the can; they are made into a spicy salad(?) and eaten with cold somen. you should also try canned silkworm pupae (뻔데기)--if you dare!

@@CannedFishFiles When I was 10 I went to a seafood industry convention in Seattle, the highlight was a cruise on Puget Sound. Heading out we passed the Calypso, and stopped to harvest geoducks over deep sand/mud flats. The clams were big and heavy. They were harvested by divers with hoses to loosen the sand. They prepared a sashimi with mirin and rice wine vinegar, and pretty girls walked the deck with trays as I watched the divers at work on closed circuit television. The clams tasted amazing, Firm bite and not fishy or rubbery at all. Then we went to an island where the indigenous tribes prepared planked salmon over an open fire. (Edit: sp)
Happiness is as ephemeral as the salso on your fish. Deep. It is only because we know fish without salsa that we know how good salsa is. Its fleeting nature gives the contrast required to cherish it

I also am from the PNW. Geoduck was eaten quite often in my family, and used to be a staple for lunch at many restaurants along the coast until the export market made them too expensive. We used fish heads for crab bait (mainly Trout, Salmon, or Lingcod).
