    The more common caches are great for people starting. Then as you are caching for awhile it is so much fun finding a unique cache that you did not expect. Thank you for putting out these fun caches and for all the other creative cache makers out there

    I found a cache that was named "You might hear a coo", and i found a plastic, hollow pigeon with a note inside clipped to a tree. So creative! :D Another idea is to have a plastic deer, and put a note inside :)

    Thanks to those who make and hide Creative caches!!!!. I even love to find non creative caches if at least there is something to look at of interest, instead of the soooo many caches that are hidden for just the numbers. Quit wasting my time and drving distance to hunt for. a magnetic micro in a guardrail, road sign, or recyled container hidden behind a store. What happened to the rules of hiding quality caches. Thanks again you guys for making it really enjoyable.

    I still like to be taken to a location that's interesting. The container is secondary, but does add fun. Far too many caches around here stuck in brambles or whatever that have no redeeming quality.

    Little question: why are the (lets say) original/official caches ammo boxes?

  • @blindleader42

    @blindleader42

    9 жыл бұрын

    Ammo boxes aren't "official" or even universal. But they are cheap, big, durable and weather proof. In the Pacific Northwest, where Geocaching started, weather proof is critical.

    i need serious help finding caches. i looked for a cash near a fountain and i found the fountain but my gps told me to go across the street. it was like 75 feet off. accuracy said 15 feet. do i need to fix my map? the gps is an oregon 550t and its new. my maps are the 24k west. i didnt find the cache. i want to get better at geocaching but i need my gps to give me better accuracy. i dont think my gps is the problem, i think its the maps, but i was using the compass

    if anyone wants to go to a cache event (which is when loads of cachers meet up and there's a raffle and stalls and stuff) there is one on the 31 july 2011. I am an official cacher and if you dont believe me my caching name is Dopaz .

    What about if you hide a cache so well hidden that nobody ever finds it? Its not so hard to do. In fact its rhe easiest thing to do, so whats the point then? IMO the challenge should be not to hide a cache. It should be more like placing it somewhere where its more like camouflaged instead of hiding it?
