    This show is growing here across the pond! I even go as far as putting the close captioning on so I don't miss any vernacular! I absolutely love the dialogue and I can quote all the scenes between the 2 Ann (e)'s by heart. This show is brilliant! Thank you for continuing to post these little tidbits! We need these over here in the US.

    I enjoy the extended scenes as well. Thank you, BBC. I have gotten them in you tube clips like this; but I bought an all region blueray player and the BBC blueray discs, so I see the extended scenes in the actual episodes. Looking forward to season 2. Can't wait!

    @Crimsonjett - Thanks again for this clip and all your uploads. I just wanna say that YOU ARE AN ANGEL because, without you, we are lost. You connect us in your channel and it feels like that all of us, is in this one big loving family. Because of you, my dear old friend (PoetBy Nature) won't find me and I won't have a new friend (Loveis...). So, I am very grateful for all the work you have done for us. THANK YOU again 😊

    @@Crimsonjett - Btw, I was wondering if it's not too imperious of me to ask you if you could make a montage of Anne & Ann's kisses (in slow-mo 😁 I hope I don't sound like a "pervert"!). The reason is, my friend (PoetBY Nature) & I, had been discussing A&A's intimacy for quite a while now and it's hard to jump to different clips from different channels just to prove each of our theories. If we have it all here, that would be great! 😆 And mind you, I think you're going to get a LOT of likes and comments 👌 which I believe that's not the reason you aim for. But it is also OKAY if you don't feel like it, it's your channel and I don't want to impose something on you to do if your heart is not into it also. It's like asking Van Gogh to paint something he doesn't want, that's not good. So, Dear Angel 😊 I hope you'll hear my plea...

    @Crimsonjett As always, THANK YOU for posting the BBC cuts; even the subtle ones like Anne closing the ring box and sitting back on the floor as Ann continues to really sob. For me, that completed the scene far more properly. Question for you from this Canadian (lifelong watcher/lover of British TV🇬🇧📺😉) that you might be able to answer: Is there a reason BBC viewers get to watch the entire uncut version as opposed to those of us across the pond? I've noticed this over the decades but just accepted that sometimes North American viewers get a shorter(?)/slightly alternate version of the entire original version that's broadcast in the UK. (I also used to think being a Commonwealth country that we here in Canada would get the full goods, lol, but I guess membership doesn't always have its privileges 😂). Sorry for the long message, just thought I'd say "ta" and ask my question. 🇨🇦💙🇬🇧

    You're welcome, I do hope this show grows big across the pond. It's very popular here, Suranne is a household name. As for your question, we pay for a tv licence over here every year. It's the law. So we can enjoy uninterrupted viewing, no ads during GJ cos we already pay a licence fee to watch BBC. As for HBO, not sure why, I don't know if it's a need to break for ads, or if they have a tight schedule and they can't commit to the full view time? Sorry, I could only partially answer your question.

    A fellow Canadian here. I’ve read somewhere that HBO has a strict rule for the exact running time of each episode, so they alter some scenes to fit that time. This may be the reason for GJ, but still can’t explain why they do this for other BBC shows not on HBO.

  • @EricaGamet

    @EricaGamet

    Sometimes it does have to do with running time to fit in advertising, at least here in the US (assuming it's similar in Canada). Even on HBO, which is a paid cable channel, they have ads in-between shows for other shows, etc. In some cases, it's merely an artistic choice based on the "typical" audience of each market (UK vs. North America). I think that probably worked well until 20 years ago, but with the world growing ever smaller due to the internet, etc., that way of thinking is a bit outdated. Back when the only way we could get BBC content here was on PBS, it didn't matter as the group of us doing so was pretty small. Now that we have KZread and even BBC America, you would think they would catch up and give us the same viewing experience.

    @@frankienarcimous7830 You'll have to buy it from Amazon.uk not the main American Amazon if you want the BBC version. Just know that it is coded for region 2, while America and Canada are region 1. So you have to have a DVD player that's for all regions or Google for a simple hack to change it.

    Here in the US we have never seen or heard of Suranne J or Sophie R before this series. They are both so exceptional. We aren't used to seeing this level of acting very often here on TV series even premium channels. British tv and film makes what we do here look like the sell out brain dead amateur drivel that it is... on every channel here with the exception of pay per view, hbo, showtime, and starz. I am going to subscribe to britbox.

    I've been a fan of Suranne's for several years from Scott and Bailey, Dr. Foster, and a couple of other shows. And discovered Sophie a couple of years ago in Jamestown, and was then reminded I'd seen her in Bletchley Circle. I love British and other UK tv shows! They have a depth of quality that few American shows have. I highly recommend those I listed for more of these two. And Peaky Blinders is on my list to watch next for Sophie. And if you want more of the brilliant writer, Sally Wainwright, she wrote Scott and Bailey, Happy Valley, and Last Tango in Halifax.

    That one line...."She always manages to unhinge me". It 'unhinges' me every time I hear it. The scene where Anne L. offers the ring to Ann W. That scene is definitely 'unhinge' worthy, and had me tearing up right along with Sophie Rundle. What stellar acting by she and Suranne Jones!

    It's little differences, first scene @0:25-0:35 cut out in HBO version, kept in BBC. 2nd scene was the proposal, Ann's sobbing, a different camera angle was shown in BBC version @01:36-01:45. The last scene then when Anne paused at the stairs was missing in the HBO version. Just little bits here and there this episode.

    @@livingglutenfree4815 - OHHHH there are more to discuss in terms of their kisses. I forgot! How about the bed scene where they were at the BLACK SWAN INN when they were about to meet Dr. Belcome. Remember that, I think that was more of Ann Walker/Sophie Rundle going all the way... 😂😂😂 It was the 1st time you'll hear Anne Lister/Suranne Jones MOANS! Also, I mentioned to you how AL arched her back to accommodate Ann W. That scene for me is the most intense and 🔥HOT! UGHHH.. it's hard to find that particular clip because it's too fast and too dark. I've asked Crimsonjett if she could make a montage of all A&A's kisses 😁 I know you're gonna LOVE IT! 😂😂😂
