it's honestly so refreshing to be able to have these sorts of compilations with two older guys where they are actually romantically involved in canon. like, don't get me wrong i have nothing against the typical cute young gay couples in media, but taking the older and less queer-coded guys that always end up straight and queerbaiting or gay but celibate and making them just plain queer and romantically involved is just such important representation.

The scene at 5:26 (quite possibly one of my absolute favourites in the series) is when you realize this isn't queerbait, these two are genuinely falling in love with each other and have been the whole time. And it's not subtext, it's blatant. It's real. This show is amazing.

I love how they improvised most of that scene and Lucius' reaction was genuine

Two of my favorite bits 1) When Ed is recovering from the Fuckery Stede and the crew put on, and Stede puts his hand down and Ed nudges into it. I am pretty sure I let out an audible swoon. Like that subtle gesture of comfort spoke VOLUMES. 2) When Ed is about to kick some rich person butt and Stede very sternly says “stand down NOW”, and Ed stops without hesitating.

Those are my two favorites as well! Especially Ed's *adorable* glare in reply when Stede says 'Stand down.' He literally looks like a cartoon of himself. And that he's got Stede's robe as a comfort blanket when he's in the tub. MY HEART. I have been rewatching and just constantly falling more and more in love with this show.

The crew's primary curiosity about the nb character is whether they're actually a mermaid. Even the villain isn't trying to foil Ed and Stede's relationship bcs it's queer, but bcs it takes Blackbeard away from 'proper' piracy.

I haven’t emotionally recovered from this show yet here I am laughing my ass off at their “moaning” scene

I will never forget the moment they kissed on that beach. I literally screamed and then cried. No matter how many times I see it it still makes me sigh and smile. This was the soft, gay romance we all deserved.

It's probably mostly the way he delivers it, but, "I've stabbed you, you nut!" is one of the funniest lines on TV ever.

Just for the sake of crying for ever and ever: (spoilers ahead) Ed did order for Stede's books and stuff to be thrown overboard, but did not mention nor open the secret backup closet. He's preserving that space that only he (and the carpenters that actually built the ship) knows about.

I’ve only just noticed like that!

When Ed threatens to shoot Stede, the gun wouldn’t even have done anything cause an 18th century blunderbuss like that needs the shooter to push down gunpowder in the barrel. Which we see him do later in the episode when Ed wants to leave the French party. So he was totally bluffing with Stede that he’d shoot him lol

@@KurtanaLove1998 thing is if there wasnt a season two i feel like me and many other fans feel that just to get to mary wasnt worth it it'd be the equivalent to those episodes in long shows where they need to cap a season at 20 episodes but the 19-20th is gonna be the 2 parter and they are on ep 17 but have nothing good for 18 so they just put in some filler no matter how important it could be to future plot that future plot doesnt matter if the show doesnt continue past ep 20. like the ending of Teen Wolf

Historically I think there might had been a relationship. Even though Black Beard had a lot of wives, some of his wives could had been dudes (a bisexual). Bonnet is definitely gay based on him becoming a pirate and leaving his wife.
