No, i believe the archons doesn't want to do such things. They destroy khaenri'ah bcs of a contract that morax(maybe) make with celestia. The archons is basically celestia puppet/dog. With their gnosis, they couldn't do anything freely. Thats why morax is willing to give his gnosis to signora. Even tho venti lose his gnosis by force maybe bcs he doesn't know abt the plan that the other archons make with the tsaritsa. And ei, i know for sure yae is not that dumb to give the gnosis for free(not rlly since its also for traveler safety) to scara. I think yae also want ei to have her freedom and won't be tied to celestia anymore. This is just my theory, but i feel like it might be true? Idk lol.

*breathes in bc I read too much lore and I feel a need to say this* There is no solid evidence that the archons were the ones that destroyed khaenri'ah (I forgot the spelling so idk if this is the one just bare with me here) We all know that Celestia was the one who destroyed the nation but it was never stated exactly how. In the trailer with the abyss twin (lumine) you can see her kneeling before the fallen nation, if you pay more attention you will notice the black with red outline blocks that was used by the sustainer of heavenly principles, aka the unknown god, to capture the siblings. Kinda weird right?? At the time of the cataclysm the three archons we know currently all were protecting their nations from the monsters. Like Venti had Dvalin fight Durin ( and no venti was not involved in the fight don't get misinformed) Ei was not even the electro archon at the time, and her and makoto (sorry if I spelt it wrong it's 2am) along with their allies fought against the abyss. And for Zhongli Liyue was attacked in the chasm and the marsh (I think that's the locations) by monsters, most likely the abyss. BUT the seven was still in a huge battle against khaenri'ah that caused the deaths of the original dendro and electro archon We literally don't know know who is in the right or wrong since the archons was just doing what Celestia orders (presumably) and didn't want their nation to end up in ruins Like Celestia be that powerful it's kinda scary. I mean look what happened in dragonspine with the skyfrost nail. We only have crumbs on what happened in the cataclysm so... mostly just assumptions. if you want to read more abt it you can look in a wiki page or videos

@Maple nope I'm talking about the cataclysm which was the same time during the fall of that nation which I wouldn't even bother spelling rn, he was wide awake that's for sure He woke up to summon Dvalin to fight Durin, and went back to sleep for centuries again AFTER the cataclysm And I'm not sure either if seven was actually involved in a battle (I just saw it on the wiki lore page) but it will explain why two archons died, it is still the early stages of lore and we don't have much about the cataclysm

@Maple I think he died when she was in sumeru and died by (most likely abyss) monsters. Her hatred towards Barbietoes is bc he didn't even show up I think... This was all during the cataclysm. It's been a while since I read her lore though

It was already confirmed that Ei/the electro god and Zhongli/geo archon were not part of the destruction of khanriah, since they had their own problems in their nation at that time, like Ei busy fighting off a hoarde of monsters coming after inazuma and Zhongli fighting Azhdaha in the chasm at that time it was very chaotic. But Venti were still not sure.

Where did you get this information from? I don’t know about Zhongli, but Ei admitted to being a part of the cataclysm. She just arrived late, but she was still there

@Maple both of them did. Ei says “I arrived late” in one of her voicelines when traveler asks about the cataclysm. So she did take part in it, just not as much as the other archons
