I recently had a Japanese player come into my world and spoke to me in Japanese, asking if I knew how to speak it cause I had the lyrics 「暗闇も光るなら 星空になる」in my bio. He then subsequently asked to fish in my world before I could even type cause on PC I had to type it on a notepad then copy and paste my response since genshin wouldn't let me use JP keyboard. It was such a sweet bonding moment cause he tried really hard to communicate with me and I could see his eye's light up when I responded. It honestly made my day.

that boss korean name is called 고대 용 or something like that. 고대 translates to "ancient" or "primal" but in Korea that same word 고대 can also be an abbreviated term for 고려대 which translates to Korea National University. So I'm guessing he was trying to translate the dragon boss' Korean name to English name and it just came out terribly XD

AHAHAHAHA Korean University rock dragon....As a Korean, I think I know why it translated that way 🤣🤣🤣. I'm guessing that this guy wanted to say "고대 바위용" (primo geovishop), but he accidentally typed "고려대 바위용". "고대", means 'ancient', while the typo version, "고려대", is a famous Korean University.

Haha, good to know 😂 I always find it funny when using translators between an Asian language and English (or really any non-asian language) because 9 times out of 10, the true meaning is completely lost. But you often get some pretty funny results. Hence why I actually want to learn more languages so I don't have to rely on Google to try and communicate lol

I always find it funny when you try to translate between English and Asian languages via something like Google Translate. Some words stick, but most of the time the context is completely lost because of the structure of the sentences, as well as the fact that Asian languages tend to rely a lot more on the subject of a conversation being established only once. Lends itself well to some funny interactions, haha

Its so funny cuz when you get a character you say ‘I pulled x character’ but in some European languages you say ‘I found x character’ Same in Korean we dont say ‘kill x boss’ we say ‘catch x boss’

Someone who speaks Korean left a comment explaining what they think happened in the translation... So if you have the time, you can scroll through and try to find it lol. But in short, Translation applications aren't very accurate when it comes to translating Asian languages to English or vice versa

I once played Genshin Impact at 3 am, and entered in a world with two friends and I had a wholesome experience. Especially when the other Venti Main started playing the lyre.

The fact he said "Korean Unerversity Rock Dragon" which is obviously the primo geovishop and ive been laughing for 30 minutes from what he said

Honestly the fact that he has a Razor icon made this video 10x funnier and cuter.

Yep, time zone differences make for one hell of encounters when you least expect it in co-op. I'm on the other side of the globe, so to briefly explain why I picked the US server instead of my native regional server, it's because I was following some people who also made their accounts there; not going to tell who though. In my timezone I tend to be at work in the day, so by the time I sign out of it and get ready to play, it's more or less half past 8 on the clock. Sometimes when I can afford downtimes at work (working from home) I'll be online as soon as daily reset kicks in to finish dailies before getting back to work mode, and spend resin later after work. As a result I am rarely able to catch some people I've added in my friends list hailing from the NA server native timezone online. It's pretty much a chill time online if I do, though.

i really like playing online co op games at around 12 to 4 in the morning because you can literally meet someone who can make you laugh

that kind of co-op is so adorable, i entered a kid's newbie world as well, i kinda thought that person knows spanish, so i wrote like i always do (i speak spanish) but the way he/she describe the bosses was so funny for me too, i thought he/she would be young, and in fact. But he/she speak english, i felt so bad, poor kid

I was playing with some French players with my mother, they didn't know what I meant by "cryo regisvine" because their english isn't that great, like other was amazing but they forgot a few words every fifteen messages, so I just simplified it to "cold flower" which is what I do with my family when they forget something or make me repeat something.... I love it when people whos first language isn't a certain language forget a word or two and just get confused, or when they make new names up like that one tiktok with "el horse tornado"

It's a mix of both. In my Specter farming video, it took me 10-15 minutes each time I tried to join a world because nobody would accept, then one of them allowed me in, said Hello, and kicked me immediately after lol.

this reminds me of the time a korean player entered my world to help me with a dragonspine quest, but i had already finished it (signatures were locked at that time so i couldn't remove the "help" from my signature and they thought they could help with it). they said they could help me with something else, but eventually things started getting a little bit lost in translation and they suddenly left :( i felt bad and i didn't think until now that i should've used a translator. besides that, i tend to stay up super late and so a lot of the players i come across speak other languages, but we all try our best! i made a friend as well some time ago and we message each other nearly every day. we'll make time to play with each other despite our completely different time zones and schedules. co-op definitely is very fun :D

That last part was so cute, especially with Razor as their pfp - i co-oped with someone named rabano which i think means radish and it turned out they could only speak spanish, so i felt the google translate on a whole different level even though i take spanish classes xD

The random weapon swinging happened to me too once! We did dailies and then just started doing this and eventually I set the grass on fire so they died because we were both at low health-

Definetly a nighttime gamer. And a nighttime youtube watcher, literally writing this at 5 am. Though sometimes still play in "normal" hours. Also, if you find it enjoyable to play with people who (sometimes) don't know English very good, I would recommend starting an account on Europe server. There's not much difference in people you encounter depending on the time of day, but what makes it interesting is that almost everyone's English is somewhat weird because it's usually not their native language (same with myself), but people are very nice about it (at least in my experience).
