We will truly see how Bailey and Austin and Geno do without each other. Bailey and Austin were absolutely amazing continuing the play after the catch but the one thing Geno brought to the table(which is what QBs do) is the placement of the ball. If you watch when Geno throws he throws it right where they can catch it and only they can catch it so it'll be interesting how the WRs deal with Bradford and the Jets WRs deal with Geno. This season will definitely be interesting!

I really like his pocket presence and I think he is a solid contender to be the number one pick for the Chiefs. He reminds me a bit of Donovan McNabb, a solid starter for 10 years and can lead a team to a lot of wins.

This kid has Vince Young written all over him. Long throwing motion, doesn't transfer weight to the front foot completely. Biggest problem is he's always in the gun, he's gonna have a big learning curve to play under center. Someone will fall in love with his combine numbers, but in reality he needs to go to a team that has an older, established QB so he can learn for 3 years then take over.

Honestly i dont see why everyone is hating.. i stopped the game at half to write this so maybe im premature but Smith looked good.. he has zero Oline help and has pressure in his face on almost every snap and he is still making some good throws.. i have seen a few throws behind (but still catch-able) Smith stayed in the pocket, moved well in the pocket and only looked to run when he had to! he took some big shots in the mouth and delivered the ball on target.

I really like his feel for when the pocket collapses and his arm is very Matt Ryan-esque and I think that's a good thing. He has nice touch on the intermediate to long throws and only occasionally shows shaky accuracy and I think this game is a solid claim to that. Geno makes a lot of plays in this game. You have to like what you see.

I would compare him to more of a Ben Rothlisberger ,Factoring in the mobility and pocket presence. His skill will go as far as hes willing to Push, High ceiling for Geno Smith. Very excited to see him in the NFL

this guy is very consistent in his mechanics its looking more and more like the eagles are gonna draft this guy , if the chiefs take barkley i cant see any other team passing on all that talent at the top of this draft to take a QB maybe buffalo but they could use alot of positions, i dont think they are ready to move on just yet

I like him a lot...he can really sling that ball around. I think the Raiders take him in the 1st round as he looks so much better throwing the ball than T. Pryor ever did. My only concern would be: What happened in the 2nd half of the season? After the UT game, the entire WVA team pretty much tanked the rest of the season. How much of that losing streak is on Geno Smith? There's no doubt he can throw the ball - how does he handle difficult situations like a multi-game losing streak?

Problem isn't Geno Smith. The WVU offensive line was horrible and allowed too many sacks and pressures. Also, all Smith really had was to throw to Austin which works but defenses were expecting it most of the time. But, he still has a lot of work to do to make it in the NFL.

people love to say that but its a contradictory statement. brees goes threw his progressions more than brady does that mean hes better at it?? genos pretty good at going threw his progressions, ofcourse hes gonna be looking at tavon more because hes open, or geno trusts him to make a play sometimes; which if your a chiefs fan you shoulc love. id love to see a corner try and outjump baldwin downfield....Nassib has a lower ceiling, geno has an elite arm, good enough speed, good work ethic, done deal

Right now I'm liking Glennon the most out of this QB class. Geno is vying for that number one spot but I don't think he has the accuracy down the field that Glennon has. Smith's pocket awareness isn't great and I think he benefits a lot from his great receivers. He will most likely go 1st overall but doesn't deserve it. Smith, to me, projects to be a more mobile Carson Palmer.

I like this kid. I think he needs to work on foot work and ball security. (He has a tendency to hold the ball in such a way that the defense can strip it). I think he has good potential though. He is patient, and he's an excellent pocket passer. He kind of reminds me of a young Alex Smith. Ironic that they share the same last name. lol

not as consistently but he makes a fair few downfield throws. Geno seems like a streaky passer. like his strength in face of pressure but his ball placement is good not great, not sure he'll translate greatly into the NFL. definitely got a career tho he just ain't rgiii, bradford, stafford etc. outta college. Rather gamble on a second Cam myself

Really my big issues with Smith are his pocket presence and his footwork. Other than that, I think you guys are being way too nit-picky. You all acknowledge he has great arm strength and accuracy so I don't get why you wouldn't take a chance on him long-term. And as far as everyone talking about his "decision making" he threw 42 TDs to 6 INT. I'm really not that worried about his "decision making."

they dont even have close to the same build either......Vince is 6-5 vs Smith 6-1 to 6-3 let see at the combine...though he does seem short on film but I bet he lists out at just under 6-2. Vince 230 coming out of Texas but got up to playing weight. Smith lists at 220, again need to see at the combine. The difference between a 6-3 (which is borderline) and 6-5 (prototype) in scouting circles is huge. Compairing Vince and Geno should end right about at skin color.

Takes forever to come off his first read, if you do that in the NFL you're throwing interceptions. Doesn't matter how accurate are strong you are if you can't beat defenders mentally. He hasn't shown me he can do that. Maybe he will but right now I see bust written all over this kid

  • @ohmybillnye
    @ohmybillnye11 жыл бұрын

He can scramble when the pocket collapses but he is not a "running QB" most people who say that are probably sliiiightly racist and assume so just because he is a black quarterback and they've seen him gain a few yards when the line breaks down/they don't know football and slap ESPN terms on people before actually watching them. There are actually couple of times in this video where he carries the ball. But yeah, compared to his pass attempts, he should not be classified as a "running qb"

and whats your point? rg3 had kendall wright and terrance williams, which is just a better version of genos recievers. people love to hate on geno and i fail to see why, he had a high school o line, a jv defense that gave up 40 every game, and only 6 picks??? so with how much of a risk taker people seem to think he is, which he was; but he had to be for wv to have any hope at winning. but still a 7:1 td/interception ratio.... i dont think matt cassells even thrown 42 tds in his whole fuckin life

  • @squidlesfiddles

if you watch the film though, i think this is a pretty deep qb class. geno is the only future elite elite qb imo but nassib has some talent, glennon could be this years kap cuz if he goes to the right situation then he could be good.barkley has a chance to be gabbert/leinart/russell/quinn take your pick;he fuckin blows. tyler wilson will be pretty average, he might start for a while but so did brady quinn. bray blows and manuel....ehhh....ehhh

I see VERY good VERY bad from this guy. He can rip it, unorthodox footwork, kinda like an aaron Rodgers, if you really pay attention to his footwork. He holds on to the ball too much at times, and little pocket awareness but with a product of an bad o line. He just has to work on a few mechanical bugs, and sit out for a season or two, to truly develop. But I don't see #1 Overall talent, hes a project to me, I believe.

In NY he has : Santonio Holmes,Jeremy Kerley, Stephen Hill, Jordan White, Chris Ivory and Jeff Cumberland and maybe quinton patton tonight in the draft. I never liked Vince and a QB because I didnt think he could make progressions....I have a hard time with Smith because he is so late on his delivery at times..those are picks at next level.
