    weight shifting (incredibly impressive dempsey rolls), clear mentality and intelligence, domination of space in the ring, stance changes, constant pressure, patient delivery, shoulder rolls, efficient counters, power puncher... it's like watching many schools of boxing rolled into one. he also seems so nice and polite... im hoping for the best for him :)

    When Rosado accused Golovkin of loaded gloves, he should have really accused Golovkin of having some ESP power where he can see the future and know exactly what he was going to through at him, and that's why Golovkin was able to slip and dodge every punch thrown, very unfair.

    This is what I tell my students. Aggressive defense is where it’s at. In the amateurs you have no time to sit around and pose and lay on the ropes. You have to fight at a fast pace while Not getting hit square too often and this is how you do it. Great video!

    Tyson moved so well in his prime that he had no fear of getting hit. Most of his knockouts came after he slipped a punch and his opponent was completely out of position with no chance to counter the knockout punch which was about to land on them. Once, Mike ducked and wound up behind his opponent. The opponent didn't know where Mike was and turned his head to find him. All he saw was Mike's glove about 6 inches from his jaw. One punch knockout.

    bogdan135 I agree with that. He is a very polished old school boxer. But he has perfected a few new moves on top of it all. There is nobody near his weight that will touch this guy. GGG offered to come down to 154 to fight Mayweather. Mayweather has fought at that weight before but he was never as good even in his prime as GGG. Cotto will have to vacate his belt when GGG beats Rubio. Canelo Alvarez would take a beating from this guy too. He is something like we see come along every 30 or 40 years.

    +Oscar Spark Lack of great defense? He is a monster!! He cuts of the ring very well. Just because he is not fast, doesn't mean his not great at defense. He is really good at defense, haven't you watch the video... There are many ways to counter speed such as effective movement and plus his punching power are 1 hit. Just look at his punch selection, GGG doesn't throw wasted punches on air. Look at his compubox... the KOs just outshadow his techinical skills.

  • @oscarspark2396

    @oscarspark2396

    +Victor Calderon I understand there are many factors that underline great defense BUT when i say defense i mean impeccable evasive maneuvers that help evade punches. pay attention, not talking about certain counter actions that help you defend yourself but pure ability to evade punches either by head,upper body movement and/or footwork. just like mayweather and rigo do it. don't get me wrong,i consider ggg as a very well rounded fighter but he's not GREAT when it comes to pure defense

  • @VictorSantos-pb7md

    @VictorSantos-pb7md

    8 жыл бұрын

    Oscar Spark Your concept of defense is flawed... Defense is only part of the game. You don't score points on pure defense. So don't make it out that PURE DEFENSE is even important. FMJ is only undefeated and rich cuz he is American. Same style like Lara and Rigo gets screwed on purse and decision with the same boring style because they CANT SPEAK ENGLISH!!! GGG has his own style. He takes calculated risk to setup his opponent for the KO. I mean look at GGG vs Lemiuex. GGG was on pure defense on that fight. He didn't even make a mistake on that fight. GGG has great defense, but like I said it is overshadowed by his punching power. Let me just get this straight, GGG is not a brawler, he is a boxer finisher. This guy is so disciplined he never waste a punch that's why even speedster like FMJ, Rigo, and Andre would have a tough fight style wise against him. I mean saying triple G's defense is not great is like saying Sugar Ray Robinson is not one of the greatest of all time because his DEFENSE was only good too, based on your criteria.

    It depends who you ask. If you are from the east coast you call it the "Philly Shell". Freddie Roach calls it the "shoulder roll " but more recently it's been dubbed the "Mayweather Shell" in the gyms. But originally it was called the Philly Shell. Lead hand drops to protect the body and back hand up at the chin while you pivot at sharp angles. The problem with this is if you don't master it, you will find yourself off balance a LOT

    ROB NATHAN Yes Duran is probably my all time favourite too he had the best defense of any aggressive fighter i'v ever seen on film, pure phenom. The most time consuming part is watching all the film to pick out segments if you dedicate most your free time to it it takes a couple weeks, for me at least. . Shame all the modern fans who praise the Cuban school think someone like Lara is an exceptional boxer and aren't familiar with Cubans like Napoles, L.M. Rodriguez, and Kid Chocolate (there's only one). That's skillful boxing, not point scoring.

    Strokeofblck400 Did you watch the fight? What was Leonard doing, clowning, he was clowning and being very unsportsmanlike big time, Duran was fighting and Leonard was simply acting like a dang clown. That's why he quit, it's quite obvious. You can pretend what you want, most fans will ignore the fans and play select vision. But Druan was pissed the dam fool was acting like dancing prancing clown. who fights a clown. Very disrespectful to the sport, and Duran was frustrated he would act like that. He was NEVER beat down, even Leoanrd himself has admitted that he didn't' beat him boxing, he beat him with antics, NOT the way you beat someone lol.

    David Fischer You MUST be talking about a different fight. In the fight I'm referring to Duran quit because he was embarrassed. Leonard was beating his ass (and i choose my words carefully)so effortlessly that Duran was frustrated and he stopped. Sugar ray was doing wind up punches, Ali shuffling utterly outclassing him the WHOLE fight. Any fighter would be humiliated. Duran being the arrogant fighter so used to winning he couldn't handle it and he took that L in the worst way. And that's a fact. Lol your the only one pretending and i pity you and the rest of his fans. Stop bitching.

    I like the inclusion of the Jayke Orvis track. I own that album and he is not well known. Good video by the way.

    Rusalka Afterglow thanks for this, after watching this I realize why people mistakenly think Golovkin gets hit a lot. It LOOKS like he is getting hit, but when you watch it again like this, then you see that he has all these evasive head movements and and small hand movements to block. It is quite subtle, and maybe a lot of people miss it and think Golovkin is absorbing punishment. great video, gives some insight to GGG

    Brilliant video. I firmly believe GGG is worthy of the hype and could KO anybody between 154 and 168. Hope you're not serious about Merchant though.

    I looked up the song in the description and it doesn't sound the same. What's the name of the first song played. Sounds like the blues.

    Great video. The announcers don't help GGG at all either, claiming he got hit with a big shot when you are showing he clearly defended it masterfully.

    Got to see him vs Alvarez. Two best MWs on the planet today. If that doesnt happen then hopefully GGG will step up to super MW.

    Jaymastah Ortiz The interlude that bridges all the segments? It's listed first - Roman Blue. It's that or the Mutts.
