His soldering technique is all wrong! The iron is to heat the connection as you add the solder to it. The solder should smoothly flow into the joint and over the iron, not stick to the iron. The point is to have a clean and shiny tip that you "tin" with solder to conduct heat and make it flow smoothly.You heat the connection then add solder as needed. His technique of putting solder on an iron and sticking it to the connection is crap! Nothing but pooror "cold" solder joints result. The joint should be a good firm mechanical joint before soldering. Solder alone tacked on as he does it will never be a good electrical connection. Trust me, I've only been doing it for 50 years now.

Soldering is done with the tip of the soldering iron, not with the back part. Apparently, what you did didn't work at all. The tip of the heated air cannot be cleaned of thermal oxides without using sandpaper. Your video is a sub-amateur video that does not appeal to professionalism. It provides nothing to people other than stealing their valuable time. Es un mamarracho lo que haz echo. Limpia al inicio la punta con Lija al Agua triple cero 000. Calienta la punta y ten el estaño en contacto para que el primer calor derrita el estaño y ve cubriendo toda la parte externa de la punta. Ya está! Tienes punta para rato! Abrazo
