Part one was based around the few men of the 1660s. There is a jump of over 100 years before the next breakthroughs. Why is this? Almost a century of silence before the next wave of inquiring minds.
@Nilguiri None of the above geniuses received government funding; and as you're talking politics: thanks to Gordon Brown and Labour's insane economic profligacy the coalition government has the rotten job of clearing up the huge mess. But economic realities like a current deficit of 12% don't matter to people like you, do they? You just carry on beating the old class drum. I want intelligent and honest politicians, whether posh or not is immaterial as long as they do a good job.
