    Some people bought this exact car new for nearly the trade price we got. There was paint issues with the red 2019's which caused a unique situation for them. If you see "used" Havana Red 2019's with around or less than 100 miles thats why.

He claimed it was a special Super Bowl demo car Genesis used therefore they had to title it. Either way I paid around $4-5k less than sticker. I knew whatever the situation really was I made a heck of a deal. Thanks for that info.

    I still have mine. 2019 3.3T Sport Trim with LSD AWD. It has been driven 44700 miles. Still in mint condition inside/out. Looks brand new. Never had any issues. Car has been very reliable, FUN, and fast. I've beaten Audi S5 in a drag race. I was neck and neck with S4 and C43 AMG. Probably because of my fast reaction time and better hard launch. I love my car and planning to keep it another 6 years.

    Just picked up a 2020 G70 3.3t Prestige. I came from a Lexus IS200t, so the power from the G70 was my main reason for switching. The G70 is a fun car to drive, I’m very happy. With that said the Lexus was better built, felt smoother, and the dealer experience is hard to beat. Hyundai/Genesis dealers don’t come close. So far I received my car without Windshield fluid, one of the illuminated door sills died, and my brakes are stiff on cold starts (possible brake booster issue). This is all within 2 weeks of ownership. My Lexus in 36 months had 0 ZERO issues (speaking for reliability). Again I got the G70 for its power and cost compared to other cars in its class. I pay 25 bucks more a month compared to my Lexus lease with a 2.0t engine, so I’m very happy driving it.

    I have the same vehicle in hymalaya gray. I live 55 miles from dealership (Yuma , Az) sales manager told me they would pick up vehicle from home under concierge service. First oil change I called dealer to pickup vehicle and service manager refused because it's 5 mile past 50 mile. I told him I can drive it 6 miles so it's under the 50 mile radius, he still refused saying Genesis Auto doesn't make them honor it. So I drove my vehicle 55 miles to Yuma. Get home and check oil level and it's above the fill line. I drained 1 1/2 qts to bring to proper level (too much can damage engine). A few months later due for another oil change. Take to Yuma, this time I marked tires to make sure rotation was be done. Wait 3 hrs, oil over filled again, and tires not rotated. Service technician lied to service manager, stating he rotated tires... I also have dash cam that recorded the service time... Car was never lifted off ground. Manager was pissed when he saw video. Got home and noticed sounds from front left tire. Turns out that liar at Yuma dealership didn't put all the plastic pins in causing the wheelwell inside plastic fender to rub on tire, damage. Call Genesis corporate to get it resolved. Never taking my vehicle to Yuma Az. Dealership in San Diego is 2 hrs away, they won't put recommend full synthetic oil as recommend (cheap blend). Also almost impossible to get loaner vehicle. My trim is also fading. I had brake issues as well, rotors had to be turned, now vehicle at dealership 4 weeks because fan controller knob isn't working not allowing fan to turn on. Great vehicle, TERRIBLE dealerships. I too will return this vehicle and switch to different brand.

    I purchased my Genesis G70 April 2019. I have over 38k miles on it. I have not had any problems. I'm still on original Michelin pilot sport 4 tires, ( I will be changing them next scheduled maintenance). I also have not had any problems with the sunroof. Sorry that you guys had problems. I don't baby, my baby 😁, I drive a lot of miles. 100 miles minimum round trip to work and back. I'm doing between 85- 105 mph. As far as dealership issues, only had one. I took car in for schedule maintenance. They gave me an hour and a half wait time. So I stayed. As they stated, an hour and a half later I received a call (I was walking the lot) stating my vehicle was ready. When I got in it, I noticed a new air filter in the passenger seat. When I questioned what was this, my service adviser went into the service department, I was told that filter goes into the glovebox, mine was locked. Minor issue. If they had told my service adviser, she could have told them that I was there . I could of just brought them my key. Minor ,5 minute fix.

    I can attest to this, I just bought a 2022 G70 a few months back, I literally wanted to strangle our sales man at one point. Worst experience ever. However, the maintenance guys were the exact opposite. I guess it all depends on the dealership, but from my experience it doesn't look good. We felt like we were annoying the salesman for asking basic questions about the car, the first red flag was him walking away, having us sit around for 10 min, coming back with a response we never asked for. It was pretty ridiculous, embarrassing and very unprofessional.

    Recently sold my 2019 Stinger GT2 AWD (sold to Carvana for $37,600) for similar reasons. Owned it for 18 months and only put 6500 miles on it. No major issues, but I had annoyances with interior ticking and squeaking. Transmission drag during downshifts while coming to stops wasn't very enjoyable, and the tech also had slight issues, such as phantom blindspot monitoring alerts and parking sensors going off when behind cars at stop lights. I definitely missed the dealership experience that I had with Lexus. With that said, the Stinger was definitely fast off the line, had great low end torque, and turned heads like no other car I've had in the past. The 360 cam and wheel cameras were awesome features that I'm going to miss. Ultimately I figured I should cut my losses, sell it, and invest the money until I decide to get a different car. I think I have my heart set on a used Lexus LC500.

    Thx Justin - Ur G0 looked extremely clean - obviously it had super low miles on it. I'm in Vancouver Canada (Supercar Capital) and we are very lucky here with all of the high end dealerships within 10 minutes of where I live. The area has 3 Genesis dealerships (NOT stand alone) and all of them have been a positive experience. When comparing dealership experience to the German's, Italians & British they really can't compete at that level but they are OK. That G70, GV70 and the 2022 G70 all are so much fun to drive with the V-6 engines. FYI- A used G70 with 10K miles was being offered for sale by a dealership for $33K USD just 2 weeks ago. It had that GORGEOUS Red ext w/black int quilted trim w/sunroof, Brembo's just not those nice black 5 spoke wheels like yours. I am looking at it but its just not a priority. I'm very acquainted with it. I did fall in luv w/the GV70. That interior is simply scrumptious but the price is $60K USD brand new. I may hold off until I can drive the GV60 Performance trim level. Almost 500 HP and 0-60 in about 4.0. That interior is high end luxury too. No opening sunroof though. I like to invest my money - my dilemma. Thx for the review/update. BTW- Gas prices here are about 6.28 USD/gallon for premium. I live in a province called British Columbia (BC for short) BC stands for Bring Cash-) Don't even get me started on house prices or rental opportunities. I luv Vancouver but there is no way that a family earning $200K/yr can afford to live here (buy a house, pay for the insurance & property taxes, have 2 cars, put kids in sports, arts & cultural classes, eat healthily, cloth them, buy the tech gadgets, take regular vacations and invest 25% net pay). But if you bought a home b4 2003 then you're doing OK financially. What are you driving now? Cheers!!

    I have never once considered the dealership experience when buying a car. Especially with Genesis. What do you need a dealership for? Their concierge service renders it redundant? They pick up your car for you, leave you a loaner, and drop it off again once its ready. Most people spend a small fraction of their time in their car. You spend a tiny fraction of that in a dealership. It’s odd that this is so important for people...

  • @JustinKelly

    @JustinKelly

    3 жыл бұрын

    Well when you cannot use the concierge service you MUST go to the dealer. Then when you do have an issue like this that requires you to drive to the dealer SEVERAL TIMES then it becomes an issue. Several people have gotten rid of their G70 solely because they either couldn't get acceptable dealership service or even had their car bought back because the dealer couldnt fix their car in so many attempts it then became a lemon law type deal. Dealer experience might not be important to you but it is to more people than you think.

    Hottness, and I'm not talking about the G! My G 3.3 has been absolutely trouble free. My white on gray interior looks absolutely lux, but the piping I believe is made from a low quality material that isn't real leather because it tore almost immediately. I wasn't expecting that from such an otherwise great interior. And dealer networking MUST improve like, two years ago. I didn't know that i was "that guy", but there's just a certain experience that is required when you want to be considered a luxury brand, and I felt like I was at the Sonata delership, which I really was! Otherwise, no regrets, I love it!!

    I totally agree. I have a silver dynamic 19' 3.3t. Closest dealer is an hour away and their customer service is awful. As for the car, we love it. In my opinion, Genesis could be a major player among luxury brands. And it all starts with them allowing Genesis owners to get warranty, etc at the nearest Hyundai facility. That would solve many issues I have.

    A lot of Hyundai techs don't know how to work on Genesis cars. I once tried to get an Acura Legend fixed at a Honda dealer many years ago, and they didn't know what to do. The reason i tried a Honda dealer first was because the car broke down at night and the roadside assistance tow truck couldn't take it to an Acura dealer because it was gated off. The Honda dealer wasn't, so i figured all the parts on the car say Honda on them; they'll know how to fix it. Ended up wasting time and money and had it towed again to an Acura dealer and they fixed it...

    @@BiloxiBlues07 I considered both and the rear seat room in the G70 wasn’t going to work for our family. My son is six feet tall and could not fit in the G70 rear seats. Also, the Stinger hatchback is huge and very practical. For instance, when I shop at Costco the lip on the trunk is low and it’s super easy to load. Both the G70 and Stinger are going to release with minor exterior redesigns. Both will have upgraded interior materials, along with a much larger infotainment screen. The Stinger gauge cluster will be all LED now. Depending on your needs, one may be a better fit for you. Test drive them both and get quotes from several dealerships. Don’t even negotiate price the day you test drive, in fact I’d recommend negotiation by email. That way they can’t try to sneak in options or warranties you don’t need. I’m telling you this based on my three day price negotiation. It felt like I’d run a marathon.:)

    2023 G70 3.3T AWD here, Financed at 5k miles. When slowing down from 50mph and down, could be higher, the transmission downshifts and jerks the whole car. (Feels like a brake check) However, I have tested this and had let the car slow down via its own weight, without applying the brakes. The transmission still jerks the vehicle, when downshifting into the lower gear. Wondering how that passed quality checks !?!?!?!?

    Awesome car. I own the same one. Same color. Has 11,000 miles. Never had the issue with adaptive cruise thankfully. You are right the dealership experience absolutely sucks. I have to drive 45 miles for mine to get serviced too. I’m not driving much either but just can’t let her go yet. Too fun to drive still. Maybe next year when the GV70 comes out I’ll consider it so thanks for the info on Vroom. Sounds like a solid offer and depreciation is a lot less than I thought it would be. Guess it’s because it’s the 3.3 L and those are pretty rare out there on the market. So good luck with the next ride! I’ll subscribe.

    Genesis has struggled to get their franchises to build standalone facilities. When I made this video I don't think a single standalone dealer was open yet. Fast forward a few years, there are about 10-15 open across the entire country. Now many Hyundai dealers have gotten a full remodel or new building which has benefited Genesis but it's still been painfully slow going through their process. I still see franchises losing the ability to sell Genesis every now and then which makes owners upset in those areas.

    I looked at a 2019 G70. That was a really sharp car. Nice to look at, fun to drive, and very comfortable. I was very close to buying it. But the dealership? Nice people and all, but it was just sort of stuck onto the side of a Hyundai dealership. No brand identity, very plain, one single room with a printer and a locker just sitting in the middle of the floor. Genesis definitely needs to focus on their dealer experience imho.

My local Hyundai dealer pretends to be a Genesis dealer so they come pick up and drop off the car for service. They also give me a loaner when it's in the shop. I would definitely like to have a beautiful dealership like in Korea or Canada where you feel like rock star. That's too bad. They've had these issues from the beginning and even NYC doesn't have a nice Genesis only dealer yet.

    What is crazy is that you pretty much picked the single best model for resale value for the G70 and the Stinger. The Design and especially Dynamic editions have MUCH HIGHER resale values than the non-limited edition models according to KBB. If you took a 30%+ hit on this rare car imagine what kind of hit you would take on a regular Sport model. The KBB “Good” value for that car is $40,500. I can’t believe all of your offers were that far below that.

  • @JustinKelly

    @JustinKelly

    3 жыл бұрын

    I can tell you first hand there was no benefit to having the special edition for resale or retail value. People are still buying brand new old stock special editions for basically $40k and getting full warranty. On our side of things, it didnt matter if it was a Dynamic or Sport as they have basically the same value. I believe the Stinger would be the same way honestly. There is very little benefit to having a special edition Korean car because at the end of the day people dont see any extra value. This car sold in 36 hours after being listed on Vroom and is currently somewhere in Michigan.

They pick it up wherever and whenever you want, leave you another Genesis in the meantime and give it back to you when it's done. All of this is "free"/included in the price for 5 years. Simple. And it's been like that since day one.
