I feel like people don't watch the full set. MKLeo adapts really well to his opponent and corrects his miss spacing constantly. People don't give him the credit he deserves, they just go straight to, "Ike is brain dead easy".

@@IzzyIsntReal If you look closely at Ike's playstyle. It's very similar, if not the same, as you play the FE game itself. Think about it: Ike needs spacing to get his attack for minimum punishment. In FE, if you don't position your character(s) well, they'll either heavily wounded or die. Sure, Ike hits very hard, but that doesn't mean you can just swing around blindly and you'll get a kill. Ike needs to predict when and where his opponent goes, just like how you bait your enemy and be aware of your surrounding. And even though Nair to up air looks simple and easy to pull off, it's not guarantee, just like the RNG in the game(s). You need to form a plan on the spot, which is what FE is about. And learn where to land, when to jump, etc. So in my opinion, Ike is basically how the FE games work. Idk if I made my point clear. (Also Greg Chun is making his legend with being Ike's new VA from FEH)

@@goleon7671 Leo is working with his kit and he's amazing with it. I guarantee that even without his nair confirms, Leo would still wipe people out with Ike. He knows this character so well. Also, his ability to recover with Ike is easily the most impressive thing imo lol.

To everyone who says Ike is OP, Easy, Braindead, or whatever--I don't get it. He's now a solid character with a consistent combo game and great kill confirms. These are things I used to WISH Ike would have back in S4, since he was so 'bleh' of a character. Why are people so against the game just having good characters?

People are against Ike killing people at 0% from the suicide and stringing together 3 hit combos from a platform that kill, while other characters have to do so much more. Ike doesn’t have to win neutral he just needs one string to tie any game up

I had Samsora to win Genesis, after beating Leo in winner's semis I really thought he could pull this off but I'm not disappointed and neither should he be after taking two sets to game 5 against the player many are calling the best right now. Samsora is going to be one to watch all year, he will be so scary as he optimises his Peach game and learns matchups.

I usually use his side b to recover and his up b for attacks, but usually I don't attack with up b. Smash attacks are really slow, he's kinda slow but not and his attacks are a bit sluggish. His Ariel attacks are his main thing about him tho. N a I r

People still saying Ike is OP, but remember how everyone thought Wario was top tier after Glitch and Inkling was called the best character in Ultimate shortly after release? One Ike in Genesis top 64, if you still think he's easy you go win EVO with him and see how easy that will be.

Samsora played wonderfully. You can really see all the work and love he puts into his play. It's hard out there being a Peach main - he makes those dtilt/turnip combos look easy. He might have won if he was able to more reliably edge guard Ike's low recoveries.

Damn I wish I could play Ike like that, or even just be decent in smash in general lmao.

Oh yeah i have no problem practicing. But damn. For example, I cannot get the timing for fast falling his air buttons down for Ike, or at least not online. I get it better with the joycons oddly enough, but i just cant get it with the pro controller. Idk, its alot easier with other characters but trying to get it consistently and killing me

I don't care how "low skill" Ike is now. Leo makes him look so incredibly fluid and it's really fun to watch.

Ike is only easy at very low level of play; most who say he’s easy are lowkey bad. Beating Peach with Ike is a ridiculous accomplishment. This coming from a Pichu main.

Those of you taking credit away from MKleo's skill because "iKe iS oP": Go to any tournament and try to spam Nair to up Air you won't get far at all LMAO! MKleo makes it look easy but he is actually spacing out every Nair so that his opponent can't touch him. Very different from just spamming.

ok but seriously, ike's nair is one of the most dangerous moves for him to use as actually hitting it requires you to read an opportunity most heavies would have a hard time getting into, props to mkleo for reading each and every weakness his opponent had.

I find it really cool how Mkleo sacrifices Ike's usual ledge trapping strategy for a more consistent/safe approach.

Shrish Vellore NAIR literally has no ending lag, so even if you shield it’s not 100% certain you will get a punish... He has grab combos, kill confirms, and amazing frame data with a disjoint..

The first stalk of the last game is some of the cleanest movement ive ever seen. Mkleo is just empty hopping and dancing around and samsora is all that too its just some fire smash.

Damn sam! What a good fn job! Samsora is sooo good those peach combos are incredibly difficult to pull off and he’s so versatile and good with them !

Ike is kinda easy to use but that isn’t always a good thing, complex characters like snake suck for beginners but once you get good with him, you can wreck. Mkleo has to try a lot harder to beat some characters that are difficult but get op when used well. Ike isn’t broken geez, his kit is more simplistic than most

Yeah I agree, the linearity can be a disadvantage. He has less options in neutral than most characters. And obviously his recovery is very exploitable. I think samsora had so many opportunities to beat mkleos recovery this series and he kinda flubbed them (turnip opportunities, opportunities to use toad)

this game showed me that being sick at this game is more about knowing what your opponent wants to do and then mixing it up accordingly

ZeldaRacer oh didnt knew Smash did stage bans. But isnt that kind of irrelevant? I mean, smash stages (the tournament legal stages) dont change much, just platform and screen borders distance, but some stages even have the option to choose the platforms you want.

@@Carlisho Take Kalos Pokemon League for example. The platforms are on the edge rather than floating in the middle like battlefield meaning different methods of killing/recovery. Each character can interact with each stage differently. Look at Final Destination, Battlefield, Town and City and Yoshi's island. Those are completely different stages. Stage pick/ban are just as vital as Character selection.

Peach isn't hard. Any moron can do her down tilt combo since it's so free as a setup. Stop acting as if there are any characters in this game that are super hard to play. There isn't very much that's technical in this game so far. It's largely just landing free combo setups.

I feel like there is some room to implement it in ultimate honestly. I'm not sure, but they seem to come out really fast and could probably be a combo stopper for some characters.

This is proof MKLeo is the goat. The amount of difference in skill needed to beat a Peach with Ike is huge. Crazy outplays.

Ike is not OP, Peach just struggles with most of the sworders because they outrange her. Her best way in is basically to spam them with her turnips.

Ike is a noobstomper. He calls out bad spacing and punishes hard since he is a heavy with amazing range. That's how I see it. Nair is super good, there's no understating it. It's practically busted. But there are ways to get around it. Samsora actually does a great job of not getting hit too often with it imo. I'm okay with Ike being like this. I don't think every character can have sick combo game like Peach.

@@user-ms7ss7du1r Ike is simple and he hits hard, which are all things that make him look brain dead and attractive. He is not that easy against good players that understand how to space. People just like to whine about hard hitters. He's a heavy. Idk what people expect...is it the nair? It's like his only super powerful tool. The rest of his kit is either decent or not very good. His aerials are all great, but some of the things that shone the brightest with him are gone. His grab range is abysmal and his jabs OH GOD HIS JABS are pretty atrocious.

Just because a character isn't broken doesn't mean they aren't top tier or derp. In a game this balanced it makes sense that you wouldn't see one character dominating tourney's since there are plenty of other characters that are arguably just as good too.

I'm pretty sure Ike only looks easy to use because of MkLeo. Who by the way is the only other Ike in the top 64. Leo is someone who made even smash 4 marth look op. By the way, arguably the best Ike player of sm4sh, Ryo, is still maining ike but isn't making a name for himself as much as Leo. Shows you that it's all the player, not the character.

I don’t get the people who say that Ike is “simple.” Yes, his kit is somewhat basic. But it’s how you use the kit to your advantage. I’ve seen a crap ton of Ike players-in and out of tournament. Their play styles are all incredibly different. Ike’s kit may be “simple,” but you can do a lot of different things with it. Ike also pushes good fundamentals. If you don’t have good fundamentals and you try to play Ike, you won’t get much accomplished.

It only got nerfed slightly so Ike and Chrom are more likely be first to die when they suicide. As you saw however, when you're up a stock, go for it.

Daquan Curry Ike isn’t op, he’s high or top tier but since he’s (heavy) he gets combod a lot and his recovery is just bad. Same goes for cloud except he doesn’t have as much kill options and he’s lighter.

That’s true, his kits easier to use than most but that doesn’t always mean a good thing because you don’t have many options

Yeah, in that last fight the stage was really in Ike´s favor. That alone lowered the chances of Samsora winning by a huge amount. And that Killconfirm at 78% smh... Yeah, Bad SDI my ass. Maybe in Pools but this is Samsora in Losers Finals we are talking about...

So now Zero is becoming the smash youtuber while Leo becomes the best smash player. Fair enough

People who complain about mkleo being boring to watch or repetetive have no idea what pro play is, most pros have a very repetive play style, you want to know why? BECAUSE IT WINS GAMES, you can even see samsora doing this with the peach combo pros do whatever makes them win games so please shut up if you know nothing

Dude... Everybody was saying that same thing about Tweek for weeks, almost a month. Now they are saying it about Leo. Damn you guys love to get ahead of yourselves. There are a couple of players that could easily become better than Leo if Leo were to sleep just a little bit. VoiD, Samsora, Light, Zackray, Gluttony, ZeRo, Nairo, ESAM and a couple others are currently breathing on Leo's neck.

david jurado Literally none of those players are “breathing down Leo’s neck.” With respect to them, the only person besides Leo to take a major has been Tweek, and Leo’s the only one to have a supermajor. Leo has a big lead legacy wise right now by taking a supermajor and a major, G6 and SC United respectively. People like you who are always like, “Don’t speculate things can change” are so annoying. Obviously things can change, but speculating is part of why spectating competition is fun. You must be pretty boring to talk about Smash Ultimate with if you’re afraid to make any predictions about an early-meta game.

Wonder why we don't see 8 Bayos in top 8 (or 8 Ikes)? It's called *G A M E B A L A N C E*. Sakurai did better in this game. Yeah, that includes Ike and Pichu. And everyone in the roaster BTW. Please, just be a good e-sportsman.
