A friend of mine opened up a store-front contact center for his church at an intersection in the small district where I live. He asked me what I thought the community needed most and I gave this quite a bit of thought. Finally, a few weeks later, I answered that I had come upon the answer to his question. Naturally, he asked, "What question was that?" So, after I reminded him, he became very curious as to what this non-christian (I) was going to tell him. I told him that the community needs people who are trained in good-humor and kindness who just go around smiling and helping out when needed and who can tell jokes to make people laugh and forget their very grave problems of sickness and loss and offer a place where the person can accept and enjoy the here and now. My friend nearly threw me out of the store-front shop. I guess I offered the idea in the wrong way. So, I took out my flute and played a bit. This gave him back the good mood he always had had. What do you think?

Thanks again for the talk - I'm looking forward to listening to the end, but just MUST comment on the "lost one shoe" commentary of yours (which I haven't heard to the end, because my internet connection is very slow!). I used to buy the shoes which were on sale and displayed outside on a stand in the street. These were always perfectly good shoes, but the shop only displayed the left shoe(s). Because my feet are not equally long or wide, it was necessary to go into the shop to try out the right shoe, as well. Now, this right shoe had been in the box the whole year and had a totally different hue as the left one which had endured many weather-hardships including sunlight and rain. If it fit as well I would bargain with the manager to get the shoes cheaper and was often able to achieve an even lower price than the discounted one. I would proudly wear the two differently colored shoes - one new and un-harmed and the other older and, though unused, had seen much of life (I think I preferred that one, although it was best having both!) Once these were so extremely changed by the weather that the shop at first refused to sell them to me. I had to demand that they did and paid full-price for this. Oh well, easy come, easy go. I still had good shoes. Love.

Is that loud electrical whine just in the recording or are the fluorescent lights and/or electrical wiring that loud. It’s a bit of a distraction from an otherwise wonderful talk.
