I recently purchased a new Lifan ES5700 generator having a chonda engine. My problem is slightly different. When cold, it starts easily and reliably 1st pull every time. However, after it warms up just a few minutes, say 5 minutes it will not restart whether choked or not - no matter how long I pull the cord. However, just a sniff of starting fluid will pop it off without a problem. So, what's causing this hot restart problem? Although I have a work around, I'd really like to get it to start properly in all conditions. Would appreciate your help. Thanks.

Hi! Great video! A couple of years ago I bought a BS power generator that has been running great until last week. It ran for 3 hours and then stopped and Doesn’t want to start up. I put fresh fuel, I cleaned the carburetor jets (everything was really clean and brand new), I also tried spraying some gasoline through the carburetor and also with a a quick start spray without luck. The spark plug is making a nice and strong spark arc, the oil level is fine as well as the sensor. I checked all the cables and everything seems fine. I just don’t know what else to do! If there is spark (and a strong one) and there is fuel inside, why isn’t it starting? Oh and when I pull, there seems to be good compression... Any ideas? Thanks!

Mine worked yesterday. Today it won’t start. We did drag it across the yard and lean it back. Not sure if that did it. But one thing I’ve always had to do with this generator since I took it out of the box is take off the air filter and spray carburetor cleaner in it and start it, then put the filter back on. Today it isn’t working. Going to go through your steps if we don’t get it started. Thanks for the video.

Any thoughts you have on this situation would be greatly appreciated! 4 days no power generator ran about forty hours on the last day weird noise, turns out the nut holding the fan/flywheel came off. Reattacked started up bad noise seems the fan had some damage and now pretty much disintegrated. Cleaned it all out now it won't start. Spark seems good when I pull the cord it seems to have compression? fresh gas. It attempted to start once and backfired out the carburetor. Since that not even trying to start? thanks

Did the fact that you did not start it for so long hurt the power output? I was told generally these things need to run once a month so that the magnets can keep their polarity and if they didn’t. The generator would not produce electricity. Is that not the case?

Disconnect the line and drain the tank. Drain the carb bowl. Leave the top of the tank open for a few days to evaporate the gas. Close it up. Done.
