I’ve had to use starting fluid on the same generator and Westinghouse says the carb is gummed up but ive always used non oxygenated premium gas in it and drained the gas after storing for more than a month. I’m wondering if the starting fluid melts the air filter foam? I’ve always had to take the air cleaner cover off and removed the foam when I’ve used the fluid. I think I’ll remove the foam then put everything together and drill through the blue cover and the air filter cover at the same time to make sure the holes are lined up. Good video and idea, thanks!

it may very well melt the foam or at least dissentigrate it. I don't use this machine every day so if it lasts for several years I will have my money out of it.
