The way he moved his body & the seriousness he put in his performances is why Billy has made it for 40 years! He was born to entertain, it's in his blood! Generation X had great band members too.. Derwood Andrews is a dam good guitarist,Tony James a hell of a bass player/lyricist & Mark Laff great on drums -they had a great combination. I think punk rock just got pushed out of the way by the pop/dance new wave type music that was starting up. I'd prefer this very band over any of the crap music kids listen to today

Generation X should have been huge but ended up in a musical no mans land as they were not liked by many Punks who considered them "Plastic Punk" and were too Punk for the pop fans.

The thing about punk was that it was a broad church of musical individuality. There wasn’t just the three chord wonders, but some really good, well constructed songs.
