That is probably my favourite design for an Optimus prime truck mode. It looks like you could live in it, I’m imagining it has a real nice interior.

A KO company could probably make a lot of money just by selling KO's of MP 10's trailer. How many Optimus Primes at that size can tow that trailer now? I've lost count

To be honest, I prefer Op Ex because it combines the G1 and IDW designs because it has the bulk of G1 and the overall armour plating of the IDW version and it looks amazing

IDW managed to make EVERYONE look absolutely amazing

My favorite is Transformers masterpiece Soundwave

True. This one is definitely more of a toy you can play with and not worry about. GCreation's Ultra Mamas/IDW Optimus is more of a transforming model for more patient/professional collectors. Almost reminds me of a Gundam kit. The more professional builders take their time to get the desired result.

As long as it's not a complete pain in the ass, and the end result is good, I don't mind a complicated transformation

The IDW designs are some of my favorites but they look more like gundam than transformers

I kinda grew to love Ultra Mamas eventually. Dunno if it was Stockholm Syndrome but after half a dozen transformations and the bleeding stopped I've grown to love it

How many days do you own a toy before you decide to review them? What I mean is, sometimes you review complex Transformers back to back. When I get a haul of toys, I usually only have maybe one really complex Masterpiece quality toy but the rest of them are basic deluxes or something like that. I'm trying to wrap my brain around putting in a whole bunch of time with multiple complex toys before shooting a review and still looking like I know what I'm doing during the review.

I believe Emgo waits to review a toy after he has had time to mess with it, get familiar. That way he knows how to transform it from memory, is familiar with the gimmicks, etc.

Some people are just really good at understanding a figure the very first time they handle it. That may be the case with Emgo

thats possibly the most fluid and organic transformation ive ever seen. top stuff.

The figure you're reviewing right now is almost my favorite

Op.ex is comic book accurate. It's the most accurate IDW Prime available. Accuracy trumps complaints. No nitpicks here.

ConDucktor Whirl, War Starter and Crate God actually, Alex Milne drew Optimus Prime a bit slimmer in his comics, his art is much more reminiscent of g-creation prime. Milne also designed IDW Optimus

I had both this and Ultra Maxmas on my wish list. I finally got this and rewatched the Maxmas review. I think I dodged a bullet and Maxmas may just stay on my list for eternity.

Holy shit! That is the most transforming transformer I've ever seen... Afew lil nit picks is a good way to put it...but its almost perfect!

I originally only planned to collect season 1 g1 transformers, but there is a compelling reason to collect Primes as well.

Ultra Maxmas was my first 3rd party I got and I really do love it, but seeing this one, its just leaps and bounds better. Pretty much every criticism I had from UM, this resolves. Ugh, I want it now lol

Dude this is one of the best transformers figure I have ever seen. No back pack. No parts forming. And no weird extra panels hanging out any where. Has to needs to step there game up

As well as the slimness, I really think the colour choices on Ultra Maxmas are a lot better, and the head sculpt too.

It's always a joy to watch his videos just to kill time

emgo. After watching this review, I watched your ULTRA MAXMAS review, now I'm back here to say, I get why U like this toy over that one, this one's just complex enough without being a pain.

I love how Generation Toys kinda did a nod on MP10 on some of the transformation features of OP.EX. This is WAY EASIER to transform than Ultra Maxmax. XD

I made a decision between this version or G Creations offering both are awesome but for some reason this guy stands out a bit more to me.

This is how the Bayformers should have looked in the movies G1 with a good design

MP-10 was my favorite Prime figure, but OP-EX just changed that for me. I always liked the IDW design for Prime and this figure executes that design to a tee. Excellently engineered transformation, great paint, and tons of articulation make this my favorite Prime.

That is a really fluid transformation.

Tks, I got the G CReation Ultra Maxmas and also Generation Toy J4zz which are fantastic. That why when Generation Toy released their IDW Optimus I was hoping some review to compare the 2. Tks so much for your thoughts and I suppose I'll get a DNA Susanoo instead.

WOW! I have got to say, I really really like this version of IDW prime the best over all the others. The Combiner, and the Ultra Maxmas versions pale in comparison to the G Creation ver. It's a very nice looking proportionally accurate to the MP-10 bot! I love it! THAT FIGURE is definitely the best IDW Prime to date! Great Review as always EMGO! So my only disagreement with you on this, is the proportions. I like the fact that this version matches the proportions of MP-10, and most other Masterpieces.. it feels right. It may look good slimmer on the Maxmas, but I think this version is better.

As BBee collector this is the first time ive been interested on a Prime..

I've generally not been keen on owning any Optimus figures, but now that I've got a Pre-Order for GT Leader Tyrant (Generation Toy IDW stealth jet Megatron), i'm thinking I should pick this guy up...

Lack of smoke stacks doesn't hurt the brilliance of this figure. SO NICE! 0_0;

Generation toys are pretty cool and IDW Prime is very nicely done but his chest is really a bit bulky but his Transformation is enjoyable to mess with than Ultra Maxmus

I just got mine, and aside from the feet being a bit loose it's great! However, mine came with two small black plastic items marked 'L' and 'R' that are about the size of my fingernail and look like they might be spacers (they have tabs on three sides). I can't find ANYTHING online about these pieces. Anybody got any clues?
