In this tutorial we cover how users can take a Lidar or similarly derived Excel or Notepad document (either VSC or Comma Delimited txt) into Civil 3D to generate a Topographical surface, complete with contours, point data, elevation heat maps etc) which can be used natively in Civil 3D or exported to CAD DWG formats / Revit RVT topography for further development.

    @@8020BIM I have a question about the order of the steps such as 1. topography, 2. Coordination point of land location, 3. Survey/project point. And what will we do if we make the concept before receiving topography/land geolocation? Thank you!

    Hi Niall, I have a x,y,z Excel coordinate file that has point number and point description included. Is is possible to include the descriptors in the upload into either Revit or Civil3D?
