General Knowledge Quiz - HARD, 30 questions , only 10 seconds to answer each. - Pub Quiz Trivia GK
Ойын-сауық
Welcome to my general knowledge quiz.
It's a fast paced quiz with 30 questions and 10-11 seconds to read the question and pick your answer.
Multiple choice with a good mix of questions most of which are quite difficult.
The quiz might be a bit quick for some, if so, when you start the video there is a settings button at the bottom right, if you click that you can change the playback speed to a more suitable one.
Good Luck!

In the Old Testament, the phrase “City of David” is used to refer to Jerusalem 45 times, but in the New Testament, it is found twice-and it refers to Bethlehem, where David was born. The New Testament is often regarded as the Bible ... so the question was ambiguous.

That’s strange. People generally think that Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem. Are the Christmas Carols misleading us when they describe the birth of Jesus… as in “O Little Town of Bethlehem”? Also “ For unto you a child is born in the city of David”. Putting these two carols together logic seems to tell us that the city of David and Bethlehem are the same place. Is the town Bethlehem in the city of Jerusalem?

Bethlehem is known as the City of David because he was born there. This is an important distinction made in Christianity because it points to Christ being of the Line of David. In the Old Testament reference in made in 1 Chronicles and 1 Kings that an area of Jerusalem was also known as the City of David. David took the Fortress of Mount Zion from the Jebusites...1 Chronicles 11:7. "And David dwelt in the castle, and therefore it was called the city of David." David restored the Mount of Zion and Joab restored the rest of Jerusalem as a reward for killing the first Jebusite. Jerusalem is also marked as the City of David in 1 Kings 3:1 and 8:1. The exact location of the City of David was lost for centuries after the Roman destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. It has since been located on the southwest side of Jerusalem, opposite the Temple Mount, with which it was connected by a bridge over the Tyropoeon valley. .

Hi Christopher This one is confusing, there are some more detailed comments and reply’s on here that might explain it better and I would probably have a look at Google to get a more accurate answer but to my understanding is that “Jerusalem” is referred to as the city of David 40 times in the Old Testament. @@kimbirch1202 No the answer is "if I ask the other guard to point out which door is the door to heaven, which door will he point to" if you just say "if I ask the other guard if he is guarding heaven" you still won't be able to work out whether he is the liar or truth teller. Easy or hard is determined by the percentage of people who know the answer. What color is the sky is easy because everyone knows that and you just have to exist to know it, whereas asking the atomic weight of the 107th element on the periodic table is hard because very few people in the world would know that off the top of their head, and you would only know that from studying, not life experience.
@mabonbran8913
Жыл бұрын
@Nigel Thornbury lol! Every one knows the colour of the sky is blue because they exist! Tell that to the ancient Greeks, they thought it was bronze! It's only blue in the English-speaking world, other countries call it by different names. And believe it or not, you weren't born with a full list of colours in you head, you had to learn them,you know nothing from "just existing" ask a bird and the spend most of their time there. Everything is learnt by study so yes if you spent time studying the periodic table the answer would be easy because you would know it without necessarily feeling superior to those that haven't studied the table! A question isn't easy because 99 per cent know the answer if you're in the 1 per cent that doesn't! It's easy only if YOU know the answer!

Multiple-choice tests had their origin in World War I, when Dr. Robert Yerkes2, President of the American Psychological Association (APA), convinced the Army to commission them to test the intelligence of recruits.3,4 The Army's goal was to improve the efficiency of evaluating men by moving away from time-consuming written and oral examinations. Yerkes' motives were to make psychiatry a more scientific field and move it away from its affiliation with philosophy. A total of 1.7 million recruits were tested, giving the multiple-choice test an air of legitimacy, but in the end, the Army found no value in the results. Yerkes omitted that part of the story when he sold this idea to educational testing outfits. The validity of the test was not questioned. The rest is an unfortunate history.
